I’ll second that Cotton Brook route. It’s lots of fun.

Yeah, I already have connections with build crews in SC. Fair amount of new going in and the off the map stuff there is endless...so it seems. SC actually has vert, so it's great for mtn biking.

My previous comment was up the street (40 min) from my house we have some vert and no trails. We've talked about building there, but just haven't made it happen. There is one hill in Maine close by called Mt A. My friends built there way back in the day, but that place is super agro now. Trails still exist, but updating or building new is off limits. It's pretty hardcore old school riding. It's illegal to have a folding saw in your pack! They patrol the place on a 4-wheeler and hate dogs!

Damn! That would suck. Hope community can pull together. I imagine there's some grants around... have y'all talked with local land trusts?

The jump lines were way fun. That big choco chip rock to flat was a trip.

Aggy is a mystery to me. Why are they so anti? The trails off the main summit are whack. But here there's been some building on some of the neighboring hills maybe?

Yes, SELT is involved. One of our riders works for them. Newfields town meeting was positive. I don't believe Exeter has had one yet. The land sits within both towns. The gap is potentially substantial...100k+ I'm hearing. Gonna need some local corporate dollars like Timberland etc.

Ha! Not sure which hit you're speaking about, but maybe that big boulder to sidehill flat landing? That's on Barnyard. I saw that and put the trail around it and then a few young guns were salivating and did some dirt work to make it rideable. I still have not hit it!

Yeah, Aggy is a trip. There is a few new trails on the other side by the lower lot. Super risky builds. One is named Jail Trail. Rog used to ride there a lot and was dialed into the ins and outs of what was going on. I ride there a couple times a year. I call it Mt Agony

You can also loop in the Cotton Brook trail in Little River into a nice route.

I’d be happy to give a tour but I’ll be in Maine at the in-laws.

    Much appreciated! Thank you

Enjoy Maine. Report back on Bond Brook if you go; I haven’t been this year.

They're probably just mad the mountain is so meh. I could deal with the jank there, but the folly trails were always "do I want to get lost for no reason for hours?"

Grinding up Cobb Hill in the slop with a 40t front chain ring is a painful springtime ritual.

Adam’s camp was great today. The top of Cheddar was sloppy, as was the top of Shredder. The rest was mint. Post ride beers at the Alchemist was a good choice.

VT 50 anyone? It's a go. Looks like I will be there solo, running 50k. Camping in the field. Let me know if any mags will be there, as well.
    Happy trails!

Anyone ride Perry Hill this week? I've got some time to kill in Waterbury this evening and haven't ridden there much this year due to the rain/slop. TrailFork reports from the weekend says its open but still muddy and the trails are getting beat.

Anyone in the N’east want a pair of maxxis ardents? 2.4x29, used two seasons but still have a but of life left. Free to someone who’ll use them.

Set of xtr brakes, 8-9 years old, worked well but prolly need new pads. Free/ buy me a beer?

Also have an xt crank with a well used 32 tooth chainring from 8-9 years ago with an external bb, 175 arms. Same deal.

Will be driving from Burlington area to Hampton, nh weekend of 22nd if someone wants to meet up. Get this stuff out of my garage.

Posting again that I'm looking to transfer my spot in the sold out Peacham (VT) Fall Fondo gravel ride on 9/30. Epic 50 miler with amazing foliage, rest stops with apple pie and food/beer afterwards.

    https://www.peachamfallfondo.com/

    $80 transferred through BikeReg.

It’s time to crank up my evening carriage road rides now that it’s cooler and quieter up here. Lots of babbling brooks and streams running with all the recent rain and trees are just starting to think about turning.

Looking for a last minute car camping spot in Waterbury/Stowe area. Anyone know if it’s okay to overnight at the Perry Hill lot?

Before the Adams Camp trails blew up, stealth camping at the end of Ranch Brook Rd. was a go to. Leave no trace.

If you can go slightly further afield, look at Lake Elmore or the camping near Green River Reservoir.

If you don't mind paying the fee, the campground at Little River State Park is actually pretty nice.
