Not good news. The man was the epitome of FREE SKIER.
That is not how he should have checked out.
I'm sad that he could not see from where he was standing that there was more to come.

I guess I'll take my Legend Pro Riders out on the hill today. It won't do him justice but it's all I got/

I spoke with him a bit when he was at Cole Sport in PC, back in '10 or so. He was hopeful he could still turn things around.

Bummer that he couldn't get out of his own way.

Pedal to the metal all the way, in everything. RIP.

Known a lot of people who were awesome at things and stumbled or fell when it came to a substance.

He was an amazing skier, RIP.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

    Terrible news.

Did he have family? Deepest condolences to those close to him

Will never forget the first time watching him do huge turns in big terrain. Knew straight away that THAT was proper skiing.

    Legend.

Jeremy will be missed. We all know his demons, and he couldn't shake them. I will remember forever a guy that had a massive smile, a zeal for life, an honest pure love of skiing. I recall long conversations trying to figure out if we could get him out of jail in time to make the Alaska trip we had him planned for. (going back to his first Park City run in with the law). He was humble, and knew he had messed up, and just wanted to get back to the simplicity of skiing.

I remember a guy who was so strong and powerful, nothing like his mugshots. I remember a guy who flirted with my wife at the time (not knowing it was my wife) then warning me that I need to watch out for her.. damn was he right. I remember him just showing up to the office, no one expecting him, and trying to figure out where he was going to crash that night. He was a wild soul, love of life and full of zeal. Its how I will always remember him.

    RIP.

Yep, Jeremy had family. Not sure what happened to his parents, but I do know he has a sister, Shannon. I don't think he was ever married or had any children of his own.

His friends were his immediate family....still, so sorry to hear of the loss of the red haired kid that flew down mountains like no other and progressed a generation of skiers to get on bigger and better skis because of his skill in the steep and deep.

Internets tell me Shannon, also a former Olympian and World Cup skier, lives in Moab

Internets also tell me Jeremy is from Park City but went to Green Mountain Valley School in Vermont to finish high school

Vibes…. Remember working on his boots back in 01/02 during a stint at Surefoot DV. Always a great conversation was had. We foamed his Langes with almost double the hardner for a rock solid fit. Also little known fact is that he held the FKT for White Rim back in early 2000s. Peace Out

Fuck. I will never forget that powder cover. I will never forget watching him rip at snowbird. I will never forget how stoked I was to get his pro model ski under my feet. Thanks for getting this midwestern jong juiced on skiing.

    I'm born, I'm alive
I breathe, in a moment or two I realize
That the sphere upon which I reside is asleep on its feet
Should I go back to sleep?

    I'm born, I'm alive

That the sphere upon which I reside is asleep on its feet
Should I, should I, should I go back to sleep?

You stare at me like I'm a vitamin
On the surface you hate, but you know you need me
I come dressed as any pill you deem fit
Whatever helps you swallow truth all the more easily

We orbit the sun, I grow up
My open eyes see a zombified, somnambulist society
Leaving us as vitamins for the hibernating human animal
Do you, do you, do you see what I mean?

You stare at me like I'm a vitamin
On the surface you hate, but you know you want me
I come dressed as any pill you deem fit
Whatever helps you swallow truth all the more easily

And I wonder, will you digest me?

Into the sleep machine I won't plug in
In fact I'd rather die before I will comply
To you, my friend I write the reason I still live
Because in my mind it's set the vitamin is ripe to give
Coming closer to another two thousand years
You and I will pry the closed eye of the sleep machine

You stare at me like I'm a vitamin
On the surface you hate, but you know you want me
I come dressed as any pill you deem fit
Whatever helps you swallow truth all the more easily

    RIP Dude

    Powerful sadness.

I don't understand God or nature, I'm heartbroken how many of my favorite souls are stolen into death before they can be the kind of elders this world needs so badly, while me and so many other lame cunts persist.
    Make it make sense.

Can you imagine being 100 years old and everyone cool died around you 50 or 60 years ago?

    RIP

The shop guys at Jay hooked me up my first pow skis before I ever knew who “J Nobis” was. A great deal on a repaired blown out sidewall. Those skis changed my life and I will forever remember him because of those planks and how he ripped. Condolences to his friends and family.

Same. Got a used pair at the bird in 2004, mounted some hammerheads for my first telemark setup.
