MAD's oblique point of view taught me much of what the world has to offer - you just need to tilt your head a bit...

It could be said that Mad's irreverance and disrespect of authority led to hippies and the anti-war movement, which led to the conservative backllash, the polarization of America, and the destruction of democracy and the rule of law. If so, it was worth it.

Dunno, MAD made fun of hippies as much as conservative types.
They skewered everything, but in a knowing way which was the point.
Fk em if they can't take a joke.

    Huge part of my childhood.

This recent song on the radio always brought back those good memories. And to my friend Charles who I used to laugh at mad magazine, rest in peace

Haha! Refer to my photo of subtle plague at Arolla in the snow for the Euros thread. Sometimes it can be a good thing!

I recall liking the Bonanza parody. Hoss to lost pioneer family. "I'll give you three days to get off the Pondorosa land. If you start right now you might make it." Sept 62 issue.

Absolutely. Although I question the "sometimes" part.
