Spring Skiing
I am seriously concerned we will not be able to partake of lift assisted spring corn this year! At least here in the West. I froze my ass off today and there are only 3 weeks of operations left at Bogus! Highly unusual.

Been dying for a sunny spring day here as well. Fun turns, a sun tan, parking lot lunch grilling and beers are very needed.
First world problems I know.

Yeah, I am not crying about continuous powder days up until the lifts stop spinning. Good spring touring will likely go on through July this year.

Spring Skiing
How about when it’s pow skiing in June? 2011 I skied legit pow at the bird on Father’s Day. The way the atmospheric conditions are right now I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised for that to happen again

Yup. I've skied Memorial Day pow. Fresh sierra cement on the Fourth, too.

Corn Harvest is usually a whiteout pow day. Which kinda sucks until you embrace it and pray you don't blow a knee at the end of the season having gone that far.

4.5’ of new since Vernal Equinox here at Mt Brokenchair. 11’ base at this point
Lift served ends Memorial Day but could be extended because the bike parks may still be under shitloads of snow.
Freeze-thaw cycles will come. In the meantime it’s nice to have light pow in late March and all this water stored up for the fishies.

Schweitzer's Spring Finale is this weekend with the pond skim set up. The forecast is for 12-24" tonight and tomorrow, high around 25, and winds gusting to 55.
Um, yeah...count me out on falling into 40 degree water in those conditions.

More shitty non spring skiing skiing today. I actually broke out the Atlas’ today, they haven’t been in the rotation for probably 5 years now.

First major warm up of the Spring looks to be coming to the West this weekend. Could be a major flood event

praying for some balance... warms to fast and its sloppy by 12:30 pm; or like last year it was not softening up until 1pm, and bird was closing around 2 or 2:30pm if I remember right

This past weekend, the skiing hit a wall around 1:00pm. The snow immediately turned to wax suck even on the shady side to the mountain. No real corn to speak of this year, I don't think the night/morning temps got below freezing since the end of March. You should see the creeks and rivers around here, they are flowing!

on the east we had several outstanding spring weeks after our biggest storm of the season. then 2 days of summer torching, followed by chillier days, rain, and most recently several zero vis washouts
still hoping for a late pow days but would settle for sun and warmth and
festivity.
last sunday, because the time to be too picky has passed.
weather looking promising this weekend or i'd venture to say
spring is june.
