I just watched the closing argument. (First thing I have watched of this, at all). He was great. Very modest demeanor, etc.

    Good work.

That is offensive. The correct term is ‘Scottys’ or Scotty B’s.

    Or Jezza.

Speaking of which, his wife is a very attractive age-appropriate woman.

But if you want to see an incredibly stunning age-appropriate woman, Keef’s wife is *chef’s kiss*. I should be so lucky at his age.

Had Gwen Stefani been brought up way back when?

For those saying she should have been awarded legal fees, would she have had to request them? Pretty sure she didn't, as there was a big deal made of how she only asked for a symbolic dollar.

The symbolism may or may not have been influenced by her "friend" T. Swift according to the jealous midget defense attorney, but that's how it went.

Guessing if she wanted it things may have gone differently?

Not an expert, but I did read somewhere that she was asking for legal fees. I think the standard for damages is unique in Utah that the suit has to be deemed “frivolous” for her to recoup legal fees and that will be decided by a judge at a later date. The fact that the jurors deliberated for 15 seconds doesn’t help his case.

While they certainly don't expect every suit to be a winner, taking on a frivolous one is pointless for them.
Sometimes the intent is a shakedown racket. In that sense frivolous suits are not 'pointless' if they start out with the expectation the defense will settle rather than risk going to trial. More to the point, this farce was subsidized by taxpayers and people with lives, with better things to do, had to sit on a jury so this Sanderson jackass could have his day in court. Specifically Utah tax payers and citizens. It's very costly too:

U.S. tort costs are steadily rising. According to ILR’s latest research, costs and compensation in the U.S. tort system amounted to $443 billion in 2020, equivalent to 2.1 percent of U.S. GDP and $3,621 per American household.

That's not to say all suits are pointless or frivolous and when cases are settled it's often because the plaintiff, however just their case might be, can't afford a trial. It works both ways.

    Someone is paying attention. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/wel...Ski?ocid=hpmsn

I didn't know about William Joel.

Paltrow shared a chocolate-chip cookie recipe on Goop, provided by singer-songwriter Billy Joel’s wife, Kate Lee Joel.

“The summer before last, a mutual friend brought the lovely Katie Lee Joel and her husband William over for dinner. Much to my delight, she brought a fresh batch of these cookies with her,” Paltrow wrote on the Goop post.
She consciously uncoupled him from his notoriety tho he ain't a spring chicken anymore so maybe he's aged into William. Hope a Jade egg was in the gift basket.

I kind of wish Gwyenth lost and was made to pay some kind of pocket change judgement. I was in a crowded lift line a couple days ago and had the thought of yelling out “FREE GWYNETH!!” but since she won it wouldn’t have worked. Think of the T-Shirt and roof box sticker potential we all missed out on. Sucks.

    Or Don, him too.

Loved the quote, "I didn't take any notes the whole trial, I'm more of a read people kind of guy".

This, my friends, is why you always make sure there's a mutual waiver of jury trial provision in each and every document you sign. You never want a disinterested Dan or Don deciding your issue, as nice of a guy as he may be.
