This, my friends, is why you always make sure there's a mutual waiver of jury trial provision in each and every document you sign. You never want a disinterested Dan or Don deciding your issue, as nice of a guy as he may be.
Also why I laugh at the “jury of your peers” concept.

Most people avoid jury duty. The ones that don’t aren’t peers.
Yeah I know. We should all participate. But fuck that jury shit. Particularly these weeks and months long high profile cases.

Bench trials are a lot cleaner. But I might demand a jury if needed so I can get a dan on the jury.

Don't be thrown off by the not taking notes or the chill attitude. Don is a keen observer of human behavior who picked up on key details. He wasn't fooled by the plaintiffs attorneys attempts to confound what really happened. He was a most excellent juror.

    Better than most.

    But also most excellent
In a bill and Ted adventure way.

Heh. Bmills beat me to the punchline.

Maybe they could get so crates on my jury?

I've been wondering if she can really see any attorney fees (if she chooses to pursue them). Utah is a "bear your own fees" state, with the usual exception for cases brought in "bad faith" etc. (a high standard, not just a losing case). Sure enough I looked at her pleading (linked below) and she claims them for "bad faith." I don't think this case would qualify unless something turns up like him telling someone "I know it wasn't her fault but hey maybe she'll pay me something." My guess is she'll agree not to seek them if he doesn't appeal (a successful appeal is also not likely so not much to lose on either side). We'll probably never know though, I would guess that would be in a private agreement with a gag clause.

I don't believe this. Yes, some people avoid it, but others believe it's a civic duty that may be inconvenient but necessary.

Most people may believe that it’s a duty and necessary - just not when they are called. Most people I know do their absolute best to avoid it when faced w it. I cant even remember the last time I knew someone get a summons and did NOT try to get out of it. Sad but true

Last time I got a notice, I was selected and ended up as the foreman because nobody else would do it. I didn’t enjoy being the one to stand up and deliver the guilty verdict.

    Gwyneth Paltrow Ski Trial

Ya know, Don, (oops), was right on all counts. He liked Gwyneth because she skied with her family, she learned to ski from her dad and it was a family thing and she obviously didn’t want to be there. He didn’t like optometrist grifter because he enjoyed the limelight, and obviously was only there because he found out that the person he ran into is Gwyneth. I will obviously miss this trial, but fuck that optometrist grifter.

Why of course sir, for $199.98 added as a purchase option. After the daily vagina sun fellowship Gwyneth will personally dry off with said purchase and our esteemed personal shoppers will hermetically seal the package and ship in a dry ice container to your door.

“Gwyneth Goes Skiing” is set to debut in London this December from self-described “harbingers of queer chaos” Awkward Productions.

The show at London’s Pleasance Theatre, which runs for 10 days from Dec. 13, will see audience members participate as the jury.

I think they should get John Waters to play the Judge.
