don't you think baltimore has done this? I do. That's the same money the giants gave Daniel Jones and I know who I would want.

Exactly what's coming out of ATL today while TMZspn is yelling about collusion. (as stated upthread, that could very well be happening, but the above is more than enough reason to give teams pause)

When Warren Buffet buys a chunk of your friends-of-the-road travel centers for $3B, that kind of cash allows you to forego rational decision making.

How out of their depth do you think Lamar and his mom are right now that they'll potentially be negotiating with more than one team (and they couldn't get a deal done with one of those teams in the last 24 months)?

4 year / $200m contract, with $135m fully guaranteed, is WAY more than what the Giants gave Jones.

Jones' contract is $160 million contract with $82 million guaranteed, $94 million virtually guaranteed, an additional $35 million in incentives and a 2023 cap number of roughly $18.5 million - this is from I dare not say it but the NY Post - so I see 129M there but again, this is how these contracts get reported

that's the point danno - baltimore is not going to give la mar a guaranteed contract

Ironically Jones ran the ball 120 times last season. 8 more attempts than Jackson. Jackson had 4 fewer games but still, they ran the shit out of Jones for a pocket QB

Wonder if that number changes under new contract…

I think Baltimore would quite willingly give Lamar the same contract that Jones got, in a heartbeat. It's Lamar that won't take that, not the Ravens that won't give it.

I'll take tone deaf tweets for $1000, Alex

There are 230 million reasons why not tweeting today was the right call.

Yeah, probably best to sit this one out. Then again, they don't make a rudimentary post like every other team and someone with too much keyboard time on their hands will make it their job to get their tweet picked up by the local news. They are one of 10 teams with a woman as a majority owner though, maybe should have led with that?

To celebrate every woman employed by the Browns should get one free punch at Watson anywhere they want.

can't understand why people are shocked by teams being out on lamar. maybe the immediacy is suspect if you are conspiratorially minded but why the hell would a team throw long term, guaranteed money at a run-first qb who has regressed each of the last 3 seasons? cam is the harbinger of these risks and he had infinitely more arm talent than lamar, but when he lost that extra step, spies became nickels and the house of cards fell.

I think its hilarious seeing all the pearl clutching for billionaire owners about the Watson contract as if it was something detrimental to the League. As the article states, Deshaun and Lamar are not the same quarterback and the Browns were in a bidding war with 4 teams. The guaranteed (big) deal isn't going to be some outlier, the Browns were just the first team to do it.

Any story that has "Jets" and "Optimism" in the headline means we're in for a good time.

What if Rodgers has already decided to retire and this whole thing is an elaborate way to troll Brett Favre?

If this goes through in NY, who is the better pickup for a QB-desperate team (that isn't in on Lamar): Zach Wilson or Baker Mayfield?

So the 49ers picked up three 3rd round compensatory picks for farming out minority coaches to other organizations, one of which was....

    Mike McDaniel.

I had no idea. Call it gaming the system but more power to them.

He looks caucasian, but Mike McDaniel's dad is black. This was "news" last year when his hire was included in the list of minority head coaches. Not sure how you can call gaming the system, the Niners are obviously hiring good (minority) coaches. Just because he looks white doesn't make it that they are gaming the system.

Edit: found this pic of his parents at their wedding: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FLAxXQ-V...jpg&name=large His dad looks like Darryl from coming to america

I had no idea either. But not gaming the sys.
    WIKI:
McDaniel is multiracial. His mother is white and his father is black. In February 2022, McDaniel said some family members from his mother's side cut ties with him over his father's race.
