Annoying Myths needing to be Busted
Base Cleaners DO NOT dry out ski and snowboard bases and make them brittle. If used correctly as topical cleaners are very beneficial in cleaning contaminants off of the bases, allowing for better waxing adhesion, durability and glide.
The Dallas Cowboys ARE NOT America’s team. Everyone knows the Green Bay Packers are truly America’s Team.

Annoying Myths needing to be Busted
I can only confirm the cleaners we carry due to their formulation to dry clean without hazing or leaving a film. https://www.slidewright.com/ski-and-...base-cleaners/
Others will need to compare them to others and ‘off the shelf products’. Diluted Simple Green, for one, seemed to leave some ‘film’ iirc. Rinsing with water might be a good idea with other light cleaners.
Here is our comments on Base Cleaners from a while ago (needing some updating): https://www.slidewright.com/base-cle...pe-or-cleaner/
The technique, aggressiveness, duration and addition steps like scrubbing or not, will affect how much contamination and wax comes off. These are all controllable for desired purpose or results.
My basic technique is to simply spray Bio Citron, Purl Eco Base or diluted Agent Orange on a paper towel wrapped around a scraper. Run it down the ski, then flip to the dry side and run it back to quickly remove the cleaner and take off the contaminates and let dry. Hot wax, let cool, then scrape and brush.
