I'm looking to move on from my BTR Ranger — because I bought a new one with with some tweaks to the geometry / fit for my evolving preferences. For folks who aren't familiar, it's an exceptionally well-built steel hardtail with a high-end tubeset (mix of Reynolds and Columbus) and especially aggro geometry. This one's lightly customized, with numbers as follows:
- 480 mm reach
- 130 mm headtube
- 62° HTA (static)
- 75° STA (actual, static)
- 440 mm ST
- 420 mm CS
- 56 mm BB drop
- 27.5'' wheels
And then I've got it built up as follows:
- Fox 36 Factory RC2, w/ MRP FullFill independently adjustable negative spring pressure
- XTR 11 speed drivetrain, including cranks
- Formula RO Racing brakes
- Fox Transfer Factory, 175 mm
- We Are One Union wheels w/ Industry Nine Hydra hubs
- Wolf Tooth headset, Cannondale carbon bar, etc
- Schwalbe Magic Mary Super Gravity Ultra Softs both ends
The geometry is a bit out there, but it's not nearly as wild as it maybe sounds. Since it's a hardtail, it's only getting steeper as the suspension cycles and it doesn't feel like a big tank of a bike by any stretch. I mostly just went a little bigger on sizing for the new one — at 6' tall and preferring longer bikes, it's just a smidge small for me.
Overall condition is functionally great, with some cosmetic shortcomings. The cranks are scuffed up, and there's a bit of patina showing through the clearcoat on the frame — pretty typical for this finish. I think it looks pretty cool, and BTR has given it their blessing as far as being purely cosmetic. It's an exceptionally well built frame, and I went with the same finish for my new one.
This feels like a tough one to price, since it's a super nice but slightly dated build, on a fancy but admittedly niche frame. SOLD ELSEWHERE FOR $2200— I really just want to see someone riding and loving this bike as much as I have. I've also got some less fancy wheels I could swap in, with the price reduced accordingly. PM me and we can chat. Bike is located in Seattle, but I can ship at buyer's expense. I've also got a spare (used, but life left) cassette and some extra tires and other odds and ends that I can throw in, price negotiable.
Slightly dated photo below. I'll get current ones when it stops raining.
