Then I would suggest forgoing the puny avy shovel and go down to the local feed store and get a nice big grain shovel for $30. Not only big enough to spank with, but move large quantity of snow pretty well too. They are what we put in the work trucks for winter.

BCMH is right. Avy shovel is not the right tool for the job here.

Get an all metal blade shovel with long D handle. Make sure she can use it for her size and it fits. Ranch or hardware store for sure. Should be around $40

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

I actually recommend one of these. More d durable than metal blade and snow doesn’t stick to the blade like a metal shovel. Only thing a metal blade does better is break ice.

Interesting. I have the Ames metal scoop and we’ll try this one next as the GF is envious of my YUGE scoop and how fast I can move the snow. Poly blade would also be good for hot tub and other sensitive areas.

I'm actually gonna agree with Mikey on this one. Y'all keep a full size grain shovel in your truck all winter? I have an old Life Link pit boss that lives in the truck 24/7. Small enough to forget that it's in the tool box.

Uhh yeah I do. In fact I grabbed a second big ass shovel and threw it in the back of the truck the other day and glad I did because we dug out and recovered 2 vehicles on the way to the ski area in addition to digging out the neighborhood gate. I guess when circumstances dictate for a YUGE shovel, you get the biggest one you can find. I think we might hit 700” today. So ready for summer.

I have had the plastic shovel in my truck bed for 3 years straight. Haven’t had to use it much. But I’ve seen how superior they are around Alta vs medal blade grain shovel. When I was a caretaker up there I would’ve killed for one of these. Nothing, absolutely nothing is more miserable than shoveling snow and having half the scoop of snow stay stuck to the metal shovel blade. Guaranteed backiatomy
