The snow shoveled off the roof of the Truckee CVS. That's a 2 story building. The Save Mart next door is still closed after the roof started to fail.

I hadn’t looked at the actual listing. I had imagined it was gs-14 or higher. Like program manager, managing a team of consultants, rapidly becoming a contracting officer tech representative, type of position. How does the pension pencil out compared to 401k and stock options? Questions/comparisons that I’ve never seen fully spelled out.

Have a former coworker who was a vp in our former employer (I think we’ve worked for the same company before?) then got a fed job starting at gs14 - no turning back for them, even with the pay cut.

That's just one side. I don't know what the back looks like.

That’s awesome. Is the rental place going to be suspicious when I want to rent a snowblower in July? No way I’m doing that with my own.

That is a suburbanite, not a redneck. (I'm not sure they even have snow enough to need snowblowers where rednecks live.)

Sounds like we need an expedition to define exactly where rednecks live. Hick or redneck, who decides?

Snow blowing dirt, smoke proof eyeball, mullet, whatever shoes from the discount pile that fit, “Best Papa Ever” t-shirt. That, my contrarian old friend, is a redneck.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

You want your snow removed? I suggest you call a redneck. Before skiing was dominated by the yacht and golf set, the huntin' and fishin' crowd probably felt more welcome. All sterotypes are by definition false.

This is sad to hear: Father, two children severely injured by rooftop snowslide at Purgatory Resort

I'm sure ambulance chasers will be all over this one. Where does liability start in these situations vs 'there is too much to maintain'? You could post warnings all over the place to CYA, but there has got to be tons of hanging fire on a lot of buildings all over the west and pretty obviously dangerous possibilities.

Edit: apparently, the little girl died. RIP

Figured this was as good a place to ask as any...I'll be in the market for a new snowblower soon and I'm in the pay once / cry once camp, so it seems like Honda is the choice. Driveway will be roughly 40' x 50' so I'm thinking 28". Tracks or wheels? Or something totally different? Thanks!!
