    Cochise Vibram toe falling off

I have less than 10 days on a new Cochise 130 and the vibram on the grip walk sole of one toe has already come completely loose at the front. Is this a common issue?

Does anyone have a contact for technica warranty , because this is clearly a defect with 9 days use.

In the meantime what's the best way to glue it back on so I can ski until they send me a new one ?

Had that happen on a pair after a hundred or more days. Gorilla glue worked fine. Shouldn't happen on a new boot though

Had that happen as well beginning of last year..(albeit about 50 days of use) I ordered new Vibram soles from Tecnica last year and am noticing some of the same wear on the toe as before…so I’ll have to deal with it.

To get me through last time as I was waiting for my new soles…I was just using epoxy.

I've had this happen with 2 different boots with vibram/rubberized gripwalk soles. Happened on nordica striders after 7 days, lupos pretty much right away with a replacement sole kit. The way the companies seem to attach their rubber is lacking

My 2022 Cochises lost a good size piece of vibram off the toe after maybe ten days, it definitely feels like premature wear

Make double sure to clean both surfaces completely for the best results.

Barge is a contact cement I havent used Barge but I have used a lot of Contact cement

so you prep the surfaces, thin layer on each surface, let it dry and slap them together

You only get ONE chance right ?

there should be directions on the package OR the Barge web site

So I looked at the barge cement page , they have pretty extensive documentation on there. The only thing I'm unsure about is they recommend a different cement for gluing Polyurethane to Rubber , Barge Infinity or Superstick. Not the regular All Purpose Barge.

    Aren't boot soles polyurethane?

Someone said to use Barge Infinity earlier in this thread

Yeah the Barge site recommends that or barge Superstik. Tough to find either locally, may just have to slap some Super glue on there for the time being (loctite makes a two part one for tough to glue plastics ) and fix it properly later

I don’t know about the Cochise specifically, but gripwalk durability seems generally not great.

On the advice of a fitter who does.this kind of work (resoling lightweight AT boots) he told me to use cyanoacrylate (super glue) for a fast repair since they are sending me a new sole. Used DAP rapidfuse, so far two days of inbounds easy skiing with the kids, it's holding perfectly. Click image for larger version.
