    Changing Your Avatar

To many of you, I'll always be an anebriated Lindsay Lohan's mugshot, and I'm fine with that. I believe my particular Lohan mugshot is of the 2007 vintage. That's old.

Recently I've been thinking about mixing it up. Here's the problem--when some of you old timers have changed your avatar (or even screen name), it takes me a while to reassociate. It's confusing and takes me a while to catch up. So I won't do that to any of you. The other problem is I don't know who else to be besides my ride or die, LiLo, but that's neither here nor there.

I can read threads on here and not read screenenames based on the asethics of your avatar. It's comforting and it's who you are to me in our dark, cramped, sex-stained corner of the internet. When you change it, it's like someone changing their clothes in a room where the lights are never on...you feel different to me and I'm not just talking about your dentures or your oddly flaccid strap on. And in my old age, that's frightening.

So, I'd like to introduce a TGR law that avatars become permanent. Motion to vote?

When AC in PDX changed his username to a bunch of dots, it screwed me up for months. I still haven't gotten over the Iceman thing

So yeah, no changing of names or avatars! You are what you picked some drunken night 15 or whatever years ago!

Our older brains resist the change and this hits. And I too didn’t associate dot man with the old name. Stop it y’all.

Yup. A drunken night in Amsterdam in 2006 I spotted the Cafe de Gaeper and said to myself “I should snap a pic of that with my handheld digital camera, cause that’s gonna be the face of this guy on TGR”.
I still call it The Jake.

While I think I had the keys to a few alia, I never once created one. I'm not even sure I posted as one.

The above posts are exactly what I'm talking about. If Buzz, HA or Bmills changed their Avatar, my head would explode.

Meanwhile AC is a ghost of himself.

I didn't have any intention of changing my name but a re-set post count and fewer Top Gun jokes have made it all worthwhile.

I know. But maybe now is the time to pick one. I googled Otzi and the images are shockingly close to how I imagine you to look IRL, save the shriveled up wang.

The opportunity for a really permanent and inappropriate Val Kilmer pic are ripe for the picking Ice.

I support everyone keeping their original avatar. Reverend, I see your drunk Lindsay Lohan and raise you Henry Earl. He has been arrested over 1500 times, mostly for public intoxication. I had the pleasure of witnessing a couple of arrests when I was in college.

I once tried changing my display name a while back. To Buzzron, nothing crazy. It wouldn’t change it from that screen above FYI, no matter how many times I tried.

How the fuck were we supposed to know that those colons represent snowflakes, dude?

I don't recall this explanation having been presented before. I thought you were just going for maximum anonymity.

Dammit there are a lot of annoying ways to try to interpret dem orderly colons.
