A friend in Steamboat took me to "The Land of the Little People". We skiied untracked knee deep all morning. "Childs Play" was a good one at Highlands when I lived there.

Nonesuch at Black Mountain of Maine. Trails are named after state rivers. That’s a stream in the state. Only a few know about it.

Gaper Bowl at Snowmass has a nice ring to it.

At Magic we have magic theme going....

Up Your Sleeve is an on map Trail. So naturally the adjacent woods became Up Your Shirt then followed on lower by Down Your Pants.

The Void at Shames is nice. As is the MC ( mythical clitoris) in Fay-zars.

One of my favorite areas at the really Big is the Gum Wall.

Its an area that only comes in late season with the proper density of snow and the right wind speed and direction. There are several different names starting L to R with Big Red, the Fruit Stripes, Chicklets, Orbit, Trident etc.

When its in it is awesome north facing steep skiing.Click image for larger version

I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

We have a trail called "taint"
It connects 2 glade runs and is somewhat fitting. It is more of a trail than a run and traverses across the forest.

A close out chute named the Texas Tumbler, after someone from Texas skied it and went over the cliff at the end, died.

A series of smallish chutes in the sidecountry collectively named the Seven Deadly Sins, individually; Pride, Gluttony, etc….

                    FTG = fuck that’s good
FTS = fuck that’s shitty (although this may be on the map now?)

Roy’s Rectum, more of an area that surrounds a large, deep hole.

Many, many more. Almost every small feature and rock on the mountain is named.

There's a chute in the Keyhole area of Alpine Meadows that refers to the most offensive name for a rarely used part of a nun's anatomy.
And of course at Olympic Valley no one calls Mosely's Run Mosely's Run. ( The most iconic run off the most iconic lift--ie the one that gets bumped out the quickest.) And Olympic Valley is only catching on slowly.
Not to mention many dozens of lines at OV that are not on the map but are in Squallywood.
And one run that's too secret for Squallywood--my kid did it once when he was on patrol but he can't tell me the name. From his desscription it sounds like a senior patroller took him down it as a test.

^^^ Orbit and Trident (far lookers right) are barely in. I have skied the rest in knee deep when your poles are ticking rocks but your skis remain just fine. And 2 days later they looked just like the photo.

Gotta stay light at the Big Scree.

I have also skied Big Red from the top in waist deep blower.
