I’ve had a couple shitty experiences. First was Germany back to Montana. Ended up being 36 hours from leaving hotel to back to my house. Lived in big sky but the flight left from butte. Plane couldn’t land in butte so it landed in Bozeman. Had to board a bus to butte at 11 at night to get car. Car had a dead battery and had to find someone to jump the car at one in the morning then drive the couple hours home in a snowstorm.
Leaving from Manchester nh to costa rica at 530 in morning. Flight gets cancelled after waiting an hour or two , one of my kids are throwing up too. Airline gives us 2 Taxi vouchers to Use to get to Boston. Have to wait outside hoping a taxi is going to show in shorts and flip flops. Probably 15 outside. Taxi finally shows up, but it’s not big enough for whole family. Taxi driver wants both vouchers, but I say no way because I still need to get to Boston. Taxi driver takes the 4 in family and leaves me. I get on the next one. Other Taxi driver was being an asshole and wife is arguing With him. He turns around and drops my wife the 2 and the 4 yr old and grandma back at the airport. They have to find another taxi and I’m waiting at Logan for an hour till they show up. Get to Costa Rica 7 hrs later then expected.

Watch the Louis CK video posted on Page 1 if you haven't yet. You're right. But so what?

A company I worked for chartered one for me. Cape Newenham, Alaska to Anchorage via King Salmon to refuel. Brought my own alcohol, not a cloud in the sky. I should of paid them. Do you own one?

Air travel can be tough but it is important to understand that the trip you are taking via air travel used to involve unbelievably uncomfortable and treacherous travel that took weeks or months.

If I had been drinking coffee I’d have just spit it out. That’s a good one Maz.

I’m glad I live my life in one simple corridor on the east coast. You guys can have the rest of it.

I recently landed in SLC in the bathroom. Sitting on the toilet with my head in a bag. Flight attendant came around and knocked on the door and said you either need to go back to your seat now or stay in there till we are at the gate. That has to be my worst flight experience.

For when you need to get there a bit faster than the PC-12, there's the TBM940 Black Knight

I don't understand this sentiment of bumping up to business class from economy, it's like 4-5x the price. That's crazy.

For example, flying EWR to FRA in about a month for a week long trip can be had for about $700 economy, or $3400 business... hmmm tough fucking call there. Obviously if your company is cool with shelling out the coin for that, then more power to ya.

^^^Of course that’s stupid, but it makes sense for the airline when you know that most of the people doing it, (like me), were upgraded for free or cheap.

I was way ahead of the curve on this. I always hated flying. The hassle of the whole thing is ridiculous.

My policy earlier in life was that, if the destination was less than half the country away, I'd rather drive. A full day's drive will get me 1000 miles or so. And most flights feel like they take most of the day anyways, so I might as well sit in my comfortable car, bring whatever I want, and see the country on the way.

This has become more complicated with children though. Because flights are still hell, and even worse now because there's kids involved. But long car rides are a lot worse. I think I need to investigate trains and/or Chinese balloons.
