Nah, not by a long shot on either count (!).

    What Winston rod?

I broke the upper tip section of my 8' 4wt WT a couple years ago. Caught Winston before their price increase for a repair/replacement. I think was around $125 for the section and I was surprised how well it has fished since. My favorite rod.

The GF had a broken guide on her Winston. BIIX 4wt. She sent it in and they quoted her a real high price to repair/replace. She let it ride over the summer and they finally agreed to replace the section for $100.

Both situations took a significant time to resolve. But, very happy with the results. Winston fan for sure.

    Good luck!

There was a Canadian fishing show a while ago where they used this cradle kind of thing. It was two rods and mesh between and they slid the Esox into that. Kind of cool, but I guess it would suck with the flyrod.

Is that a small mouth bass (I can't be sure from the picture)? If so that is a really big one.

Yes it is a smallmouth. The others are largemouth. That's my niece. She caught the fish of the day. 18 inches and chunky!

jcpm and I had a second date today. We decided we’re gonna take it to the next level with an overnight in a few days, maybe bring in another guy and make it a threesome.
