Employees Quitting
Just would like to vent to a bunch of mags who will probably just roast me (as I need). I greatly disdain when employees quit without any notice whatsoever. This is a small business and it affects every single person here. Rant over.
**the title should be employee singular — single occurrence. Doesn’t keep occurring.

Maybe they really hate one of their co-workers.

What kind of business do you run and/or own? What was the employee’s role?

Sounds like that sucks, but notice is one thing, reasons are another.
Reasons?

sincere question ... how much notice do you typically give an employee before letting them go?

States they are unable to maintain balance between other job and this one. The job I employed them for was part-time (one day per week, one weekend per month). Their other job is four days per week.

I suppose none. But,I would argue that the lack of performance or actions leading to termination would be intercepted and hopefully corrected before I terminate.

Understand, appreciate and respect making a change for that reason. Don’t respect or condone not giving notice.

yeah so every other artical i read on FB is about quiet quitting or sft and the rest are about starting a side hustle or sft whatever that is
Post covid I asked buddy pouring my beer at the local bar ( grew up here, mid twenties small town demographic ) wtf is up with quiet quitting and all that shit I read about on FB
and she said " everyone I know got a better job " SO it sounds like people must have quit their better jobs and the people with shitty jobs quit those shitty jobs for the better jobsLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

I agree that it’s a courtesy. But, I think it’s the common practice nonetheless. Especially for a company with less than 10 employees.

You are miffed about max 4 days? I’ve watched people walk the fuck out and never come back on their lunch break.
