(I'm 5'9"/160lbs and ski Tahoe for reference). I can turn 'em at slow speeds, but they lock in on the steep and firm. Skied amazingly well on the windblown and some of the soft snow from last week's refresh. Even skied small bumps ok. Way more versatile than the 165 cm Redster and much more solid than the 176 RTM 84's they are replacing. Even on a deal they were spendy, but one helluva ski!
The mx83 is an amazing ski, love my 182s

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

ZX108, unmounted, selling them they’re noodles in the tip.

Considering a FX116 / ATK R12 for sidecountry, anyone skied them ? How do they compare to the BMX115 ?

Oh and just mounted some TX103 also to replace both my Wayback 106 and Mantra VWerks.
Not sure if you got any answers on this. Been skiing the Fx116 as a one ski quiver with the cast system this winter. With shifts last winter.
For comparison haven't skied the BMX 115 but had the BMX 128 for a season.

I'm a huge fan of the ski, but it is a lot of ski. Exceptional in the steeps, and opening up in the alpine type terrain. Not super heavy on the ups either. In the trees, it's a leg burner, as most wider bigger skis are.

If you love the BMX 115, I think you'll find it a little more playful, with a tip between the BMX and ZX.

I don’t know about the bmx, but the 106ti has zero issues on firm conditions. It really digs into anything short of blue ice. Normal east coast icy conditions it’s not my absolute favorite, but still performs very well.

Just bought a demo pair of the 2023 FX106 ti in 192 from Powder 7.

Really looking forward to these, hopefully they will fill the gap between my Enforcer 100’s and Billy Goats.

Kastle is making the K130p (and all the P series) in low volume this year. 97mm vs 100mm. Unfortunately Kastles wording last year started a whole lot of confusion. Anyone tried the low volume boots on?

I tried on the 97mm K130p, Redster CS130, and RS130LV a few months back. I probably can't tell you anything specific about the fit other than those 3 all "fit" my foot pretty well out of the box. The flex on the RS and K are closer to each other than the CS, not so much in stiffness but in feel. Mind you this was on a shop floor in August so take that for what it's worth. They're worth trying on if you're in the market for boots in that class. The K130 had a lace up liner like the CS.

How was the cuff and instep fit in comparison? I find the cuff way to deep/wide and instep way too high in the Lange RS. Atomics are much better. Where does the 97mm Kp fall in relation?

More similar to the Lange than the Atomic. None of them felt too big/wide/high on my foot though.

I talked to the intermountain Kastle rep today in JH. He said this is the last year for the 106ti; to be replaced next season by the 'Paragon'. A completely different build but filling the same ski slot.

Thanks for the intel. I’ll be curious to hear more and consider grabbing a pair.

Glad I got in on them before they are gone.

2023 fx106ti’s arrived yesterday with a compressed edge.

I called the shop and they were super cool and apologetic, great customer service. Now they are sending me the 2024’s for no extra charge after I send back the damaged ones.

    ^^^^

That's both fucked up and awesome at the same time.

And if it turns out to be a ski you love, then with any luck, they'll be on closeout at the end of next season due to changes in construction...

    This is the way.

The red tipped MX98 is the best Kastle yet. If you find a pair, grab them quick. There is a reason on a spring day you’ll see 10+ pairs on the JH tram at once, even though it’s nearly a 10 year old ski at this point. People are hoarding pairs for a reason.

The BMX115 is an awesome pow ski. Just predictable and smooth for a more directional ski.

    Was not a fan of the grey/green 106, or grey/red 96.

These 2024’s are in near perfect condition for demos. 9.5/10

Now I just have to stare at them for a couple more months.

Could be wrong but I remember you had the carbon FX106. So did I. They weren’t special. The current 106ti ^^^ is fantastic. Pairing them with R99 comps to cover all resort raging.
    I suggest tryin ‘em

What is everyone’s take on the MX88?
    MX98s have such a cult following....are the 88s a true little brother?

And did Kastle significantly change the build over the years like they did with the 98?
    (‘12 88s have a white X, ‘13/14s have a black X, ‘15 have an orange X I believe)

Dunno about versions, but I had 178 MX88s (prolly 2016 version; I’m about 6’1”, 170 lbs) and they were fantastic frontside skis. Rock solid but easy to release. They felt a touch short for me - maybe a 181-182 would have been a better size if it were available, but in the end I semi-regret passing the 178s to a friend.
