Kenley with save 400 last night. Against the Braves. Gave Turner a big hug on the field. Special moment there.

Chris Sale is pitching out of his mind right now, so he’s inevitably going to get a season ending injury playing Yahtzee with his kids tonight.

What’s funny is I never really think of JD as an ex-Sox the same way I think about Mookie. Maybe cause he sucked the last few years in Boston

This is pretty much a talk radio shit take. JD hit .292 .363 .526 overall for Boston. Outside of a very down 60 game year in covid shortened 2020 he ops+'ed 128 and 117. That 117 was good enough for 18/30 by team with the other guys thrown in. This guy played like 90% of the games, meanwhile Stanton makes Ellsbury look like the Iron Horse.

I hope he does well in LA until the World Series (depending).

Yeah, I don’t live in the stats he just seemed like he disappeared the years after the WS in 2018. But maybe my expectations were too high.

    The Blue Jays never STFU.

“I'm not going to say anything against any organization ... but for him to be peaking over for that amount of time, it seemed like it wasn't just a glance and re-adjusting to get back on the pitcher” - some scrub after giving up a hr to the incumbent mvp.

6 sliders in a row including this meatball.

Warmer weather and the bats are starting to heat up; should've swept the Angels this week.

Now, if only mlb.tv would get their head out of their ass and link my Amazon prime MLB.TV subscription to the fucking MLB app so I can listen to radio calls on the go I'd be all set. Only opened a new ticket every week since Opening Day cause they keep closing it out with zero resolution.

Is Lindor's bat warming up? That contract is not going to age well.

1 piece of the return consideration is the reigning AL 2B Gold Glove winner who just got extended for the very reasonable $108/7 at the ripe old age of 24.

Guardos and Chris Antonetti win these deals year in, year out.

(And I loved Frankie FWIW, but he will forever rank below José Ramírez in my book just for the fact of how they approached the game)

the blue jays are a garbage franchise. i was really enjoying them a couple of years ago but the endless made up drama from that bench (and now booth) is embarrassing.

Funny thing though is they were right, he was "stealing" signs, but legally. He wasn't looking at the dugout, he was looking at the coach. Because the pitcher was tipping his pitches.

If you actually watched the game and his explanation, it made sense. boone had just been tossed and the dugout was being super annoying. If he was getting signs during the at bat, that is also not illegal. Calling for an escalation like throwing at his head is unwarranted and dangerous.

I already posted the pitch sequence, maybe try NOT tossing a hanging meatball down the middle to a guy that just punished 62 baseballs last year.

Last night's home run didn't go quite as far at 448 feet, but it is so nice to have this guy back terrorizing pitchers and destroying opposing stadiums completely legally.

    Massive shot.

the yanks were playing ok ball without the mvp, starting cf, starting dh, and 60% of the rotation. i'd bet that toronto and orioles fans are a lot more concerned than i am.

hmm maybe judge’s explanation is bs and i’m naive. but still, calling for him to get tattooed for some shit that everyone does is not right.

I wasn't defending throwing at his head FFS. But what came out today seemed to confirm that he was glancing at the coach because the pitcher was tipping his pitches in a way the coach could see. And of course Judge wouldn't say that was what he was doing, not because it's illegal (because it isn't), but because you don't want to disclose that you've found a tell in an opposing pitcher (which was not public when he was asked about the glance, but the pitcher himself confirmed later). Again, not illegal, and of course the pitch he crushed was a meatball, that doesn't mean he didn't have a little help knowing what was coming. Come on, man, learn to view your own team with a little objectivity, sometimes it seems that you interpret every comment as anti-yankee if there is any possible way to interpret it as such. You're like the TahoeJ of the MLB thread. I mean, I am as anti-Yankee as they come but I have no issue with Judge getting tipped off in that manner (that's baseball) and think it would be total bush league to throw at his head. Even just hitting him, which is a time honored tradition in MLB, is a tradition I think needs to go.

the pitcher may have been tipping. he may have been getting signs. but, in the context of vlad talking shit, manoah talking shit, schneider talking shit, the announcers talking shit, it’s annoying and they want to escalate this when they simply can’t win on the field. it’s embarrassing.

Jays booth is top notch. Some would even use the term Legends.

Your quote in the tweet is from an occasional guest on the show. Not the booth as you say. Did they push back on that comment? I don't know, the ~seven second soundbite doesn't provide a lot of context..

Speaking of context - are we completely ignoring that the Yanks were (literally) caught cheating last night? Pitcher ejected and all that.. smh

And the Judge glance - I thought it was established he was looking to the first base coach to catch a signal. You know, the guy who the Jays kept saying was way out of his box where he shouldn't be, to pick up and relay signs?

No it has been alleged that he was getting signs. He disagrees. And no coaches stay "in" the box. Worst case, he was getting signs (not illegal)... Schneider+Booth were fucking annoying. Best case he was annoyed at teammates (not illegal) as he said and... Schneider+Booth were annoying.

Add Manoah, Vlad, etc... it kind of reminds me of The Knicks. All hype, no wins.

Yes, German is a very dumb person and was cheating.
