Sox/Guards has been a fun series so far. Looks cold in Boston!

First two games were great. Hat tip for the freezing rain day beatdown today.

April baseball is always hard for my Guardos/Tribe, can’t wait for some warmer weather to help the bats heat up. The injuries to the rotation, while shitty right now, have shown me that they are spoiled rotten for starting pitchers on their way up - same as it ever was. Today was Logan Allen’s second start and he did pretty damned well considering how those runs got scored that broke open the 2-1 game.

Yeah the more I watch the Guards the more I like them. Kwan is a real bad ass, too.

You gotta be happy to see Sale look like his old self. He was sharp today.

Kwan is one of the most fun players I think these days. Hits for incredible contact, steals bases all over the place and is balls out in LF.

My boy is in the thick of collecting baseball cards right now and he’s got 3 set aside as his favorites: Kwan’s rookie card, Josey’s last year in a Tribe uni before the name change and Ozzie Albies rookie card.

The Braves continue to trade for or otherwise acquire talent. This year its Ryan Murphy and Sam Hilliard. Ryan the son of Dale.

    Ooooooohhhhh... Nelly! That was intense!

Guards trailing 0-2 with one out in the 9th against the Yanks and then plate 9 guys and another Emmanuel Clase save take the 3-2 series opener in the Broxnx!

50 years ago today! Listened to it on the radio as a kid. Will never forget it!
Giants down 7-1 with 2 outs and a man on 2B.
They load the bases and light hitting Chris Arnold hits a PH Grand Slam!
They reload the bases and Bobby Bonds scorches a gapper to unload em & walk it off, 8-7!
    Amazing comeback!

Bryce Harper had Tommy John surgery, and returned to baseball in less time than it’s been since an A’s starter has won a game.

Rookie Battenfield takes a perfect game into the 6th and all the Guardo’s bats can do is muster a 2-0 loss for him.

So fucking frustrating this team sometimes.

I got to see Vida pitch several times during my HS years after he got traded to the Giants in 1978.
I would argue that no MLB pticher has had a better season since his amazing Cy Young & MVP winning 1971 season!
    24-8, 1.82 ERA, 300+IP, 300+Ks, 24 CG, 8 SHO

I saw a video where someone was showing baseball players whose names would be great names for Star Wars, and Vida Blue would be high on that list.

    RIP

What a talent Vida was, just listening to mlb run down his career this morning.

    RIP

Guardos take 2/3 off the Twinkies this weekend after having one of their rookie studs take a perfect game effort into the 6th and Cal Quantril take a no-no into the 7th yesterday.

Hoping with warmer weather the balls start leaving the park for em cause the pitching ain’t the problem.

    FUCK MLB!
Last night the Dodgers were on at a Decent time, playing the Pads. Perfect game to watch with my son. good Freeway series, Pads are a fun team. Dodgers playing well with the allstars and a good young group too. BUt NO its blacked out on MLBTV that I pay for. SD vs LA blacked out in CT. Thats rigth its on ESPN Sunday night baseball. But hey, I also pay for ESPN+ so I should be ood right? No just the ass end of the Angels/Rangers game.
Cant watch Pads v. Dodgers unless I enter my cable providor info.
I pay for MLBTV and espn+ so I dont need cable.
    FK you ESPN and MLB.

MLB where TV revenue always trumps appealing to fans, especially young fans. ANd they wonder why their audience is getting older everyday.

Missed a good un too, Mookie crushing a HR to tie it and the Rookies coming through for the win!

Nice series win against the little brothers down the coast.

Between Apple TV, Fox and other streaming channels that occasionally offer a MLB game and ESPN blackouts it is getting pointless to buy the MLB TV package.

7+ in the last 4 games, 2 in the previous 22?

The team is so different with Judge and Bader back in the lineup.

    I'll take it.

Good lord the AL Central is a dumpster fire. 1 team over .500, and the division leader would be in last place in the AL East.

On a happier note, Kershaw just keeps on being a joy to watch.

Yeah, where are all the Kershaw is washed people now.
Saturday he threw 7 innings of 1 hit ball and 9 Ks for win 200
then last night he covered for a gassed bullpen with another 7 innings giving up one run and five hits, struck out eight and walked none to improve to 6-2 with a 2.36 earned-run average
    hes 35
