That was the only silver lining in that game. At least I got a good laugh.

21 games in and the Dbacks lead the NL West while the Dodgers and Padres both have losing records. Just like everyone predicted.

I saw a “if the playoffs started today” post from a brewers fan and I had to laugh. April is always weird, but it will be interesting to see which of the dark horse teams will be able to hold on, and which of the powerhouses are going to shit the bed.

Thaleia, do you have Cole vs Manoah on?

I was pretty into the Jays as far as a division rival but the amount of talking out of Toronto is too much for me.

Vlad's stare down last night was a joke (as was the "our house") and Manaoh going all in against Cole... like, just play the game dude.

I wonder how bad the fans will give it these guys today, just put it on.

    Yes sir I do (did).

Didn't notice the stare down last night but Vladdy did get beaned - was it related to that at all?

Yeah I'm on the fence with Manoah. I respect his skill but he talks too much shit. Comes off as a punk. If we was truly an ace with out his control issues and lackluster start to the season I'd be more inclined to give his attitude a pass, but his swagger currently doesn't match his talent.

Also worth noting the media isn't helping anything, they're really pushing the rivalry narrative. As I started typing this response Sportsnet was literally playing Manoah's quotes about Cole in the post game show for the millionth time today.

Not thrilled with the outcome but am happy things didn't escalate with how heated things have been.

the vlad hbp did kick off the stare. how many pitchers get up 0-2 and then think “finally, let me tattoo this guy” before not even throwing a fb? vlad is pretty good at baseball but kind of annoying.

    Bad mouthing Vladdy?!

As a Jays fan I'm pretty sure I'm expected to fight you now lol.

I ended up seeing that in a replay - yeah agreed, was unnecessary and over the top.

I am not a Jays fan by any stretch but Vlady is awesome. Same vibes as Devers in that they are like cuddly teddy bears that absolutely rake.

    OFFICIAL 2023 MLB THREAD!!!!

First Betts, then Phillips, then Graterol, and now Muncy goes on the paternity list. Sounds like the team was getting down for the Allstar game last year.

Can these April injuries stop already? Asking for a Guards fan.

Anyway, closer to home, the Strider Stache took a PG into the 6th and a no-no into the 8th. Dude is good at throwing a baseball.

Small ball is Guards ball. Tito loves Sarby.

Now, if we could get our rotation off the IL that would be really neat.

FFS, 17 rookie call-ups last year was enough, I need some stability here. April in Cleveland is hard enough for baseball. Doing it with a rookie rotation (save Cy Bieber) is even harder.

Getting shut down by Rox two days in a row does not inspire much. But maybe he Rox are just happy to get away from Coors cavern.

It’s a low water mark on an incredibly early part of the season.

It’s ok. The Sox are rebuilding or something, and Oakland…well, fuck I am so fucking sad about that that my BB soul may just die a little more this year.

You can’t win the World Series in April they say, but you sure can lose it.

This checks out. Yankees always win their World Series in August.

The only team who has played an easier schedule than the Rays this year is the Phils.

Astros and Twins look primed to go on a run now.

    http://powerrankingsguru.com/mlb/str...f-schedule.php

(Rays are only 6-4 against .500 teams)

Waay up in the nosebleeds last night. Great game, didn't think the Jays were going to beat Castillo. Toronto gave Teo a really nice welcome back when he was introduced, and his first at bat.
