I was waiting for Bob Feller to enter the chat. The man made his debut went to fucking war for four years, then came back to have a Hall of Fame career. Incredible

Shout out to MLB’s scheduling office with the 10:10 PM first pitch for my Guardos against a team that most AL Central fans don’t concern themselves with.

So I’ve seen twice a pitch comm wasn’t working. One time they reset the clock, the other time it was a ball. Feels like they should work that out

damn what a tease in boston.

eta: did anyone make the argument that bank aaron was the greatest hitter in 2000 because he had the most home runs?

Is Bank Aaron Hank's richer brother?

I think the argument for Aaron being the greatest hitter ever is stronger than for Ryan being the greatest pitcher. In addition to the 755 HR you've got 2297 RBI and 6856 TB (both still the all-time records), plus 3771 hits. The total bases mark is especially impressive. He's still more than 600 TB ahead of the #2 guy (Pujols).

yeah those are pretty good arguments. growing up it seemed like the conversation was usually between the babe and ted williams, especially considering he missed 3 entire seasons and parts of 2 more to fight abroad. if you give him those seasons and the extra 8 games per i wonder how close the total bases and hits marks would get.

totally possible we were just uninformed kids living in the wrong place and hank aaron was underrated by the groupthink.

I think he gets underrated because he just wasn't a super flashy player, He never hit 50 HR in a season, he never got anywhere close to hitting .400. He won a single MVP award. On the other hand, he hit 30 or more home runs 15 times and he even hit 40 the year he was 39 years old.

I got to say I think its great, I was able to watch an opening day game start to finish without totally killing an afternoon.

Well well well, what a way to walk that off for Boston! Pop up to end the game gets dropped by the orioles next batter home run. Adam Duval is making himself right at home. Five steaks, a triple, two bombs and the walkoff.

Duval is a baller and should be fun to watch.
