    enshittification

    I just saw a headline on Apple News - "The Enshittification of TikTok."

    I didn't read the article or anything, but I really like the word enshittification, so I'm requesting that everyone here try to make use of it from time to time.

    Can't read the article without signing up for a Wired account.

    Which is itself a pretty good example of the enshittification of online content.

    Half the stories you click on news websites are paywalled. Those you can actually read without fail have an autoplay video. Or multiple autoplay videos. And recently the autoplay seems to restart multiple times ever when you pause the vid.

    And beside all that there's the ads....the fucking never-ending ads.

    I think the californication album cover needs a slight color phase shift towards brown to be more appropriate.
