Tile or locator device on skis?

Has anyone successfully dialed in a system for using one of these Tile or similar devices for locating skis after a fall in deep powder?

My general idea is to only use on deep days but the form factor is so small, i wonder if I can just keep it on for good. Hoping to apply puck or card under boots between the bindings.

    1) don’t crash so much;
    2) crank your DIN; or
    3) invest in a pair of these https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NI68H6Zyb0k

if yer worried tie 10 ft of survey tape to the ski and stuff it in the powder cuff of your ski pants will leave a trail to your ski

Just a thought that came to mind after seeing cywhit’s recco video.

But you could take the recco reflectors out of some old outerwear and glue em down in the middle of your skis between the toe and heel pieces.

Why tuck the surveyor tape in your cuff? Just let it trail behind.

and then carry a recco receiver the size of a toaster with you when you ski?

well surveyors tape isnt particularly strong so it wouldn't last long

also you would need to source a roll of tape that matches your skis & out fit

so the down low is suggested

Don’t fall in the powder, it wastes the good snow.

I thought that if Im not falling, Im not trying hard enough!

Yall adjust din for deep days? I havent had issues til this happened and Id prefer to lose another ski versus injuring myself because its too high.

I've used these , they work really good, its an 8ft stretchy leash with a link that will let go if it has to

i wouldn't crank bindings for deep days

Heh. Got a pair in a storage box somewhere
From the days of skinny skis and jet turns.

They do work. Somewhat. Depends on how far your ski submarines down the slope.
And they rarely appear on top. You tend to find the cord when slicing across the slope with the remaining ski.

Nothing worse than slashing the sweet pow looking for a lost ski as people hoot and holler in joy flying by you.

You're right, but better than OP's suggestion. Imagine seeing someone creep down a slope on one ski, staring down at his phone trying to find the location... sounds hilarious!
