No, I banged an older lady that used to date him in the ‘70s. She said he had an enormous appetite for women and drugs. Not the nicest guy. This was in 1988, I was 19 when I met her and she was 39. She had pictures of them together

Hell, he thought he’d died years ago.
Grew up listening to him (mom blasted CSNY) as a little kid and kinda left that behind in my teenage years. Sometime in my late 20s I started listening to If I Could Only Remember Your Name again, it’s pretty much a perfect thing from that era.
RIP regardless of his failings.

We all have our skeletons, big f'n deal. I'm remembering his gifted talent of songwriting, vocals and harmonies. What a voice. His death stings a little bit more than most as I grew up listening to all of his bodies of work. I realize I'm getting older but this for sure is a nail in the coffin to my youth, with more to come from that generation. That's life, and death is a part of it.
He partied his ass off and still lived to be 81, and he was honest as they get, no sugarcoating, told it like it is. Good for him. Free and easy, RIP.
The fact he could pull so many talents into one collaboration speaks volumes.

I saw Jason Isbell last night and he brought up the fact that he performed with David Crosby in his final appearance. Thanks for that link.
Isbell mentioned that Crosby really liked his music, which was a huge compliment, because he said Crosby would flat out tell you it was shit if he thought so.
Amazing concert BTW. That is one talented dude. The future for sure.

Saw him three times last year, blew me the fuck away.
I have tickets for March in Jackson (tiny venue, full band), and two nights at Red Rocks in May.
He is the future of rockin’ Americana and guitar driven music, IMO.
It’s a shame that if you just search Jason Isbel on Spotify or whatever, you only hear about 20% of what he is about.

Well, this is the the song about how his hot fiddle playing wife next to him saved his ass.
He has a lot to lose if he falls off the wagon.
