1) The weather has been really wet, supposed to move out for Saturday. We'll see how fast things dry out.
2) Richie Rude is going to race the last 2 stops this season:
3) Track in Snowshoe sounds to be mostly the samewww.dpsskis.com

On one of Moir's videos watching practice, he was set up in one of the tricky rock gardens. Asa just buttered it, cleaner than any of the pros, and gapped out of it. That kid's a prodigy.

Cathro featured him in yesterday’s practice video, too.

Dakota takes 5th in semis, with a crash. If he can keep it upright, that's a winning pace!

Looks like Dak, Lauza and Bruni have the next level speed atm.Still lots of darkhorses though. I hope they all keep it together and we see where the dust settles fair and square.
Crazy to think where Troy and Danny are these days

Pretty solid coverage today, other than Cedric Gracia - he's still horrible. They should just let Ric and Aaron Gwin handle it.
To me, Snowshoe seems like almost the perfect World Cup DH course: a little bit of everything, enough stretches to make up (or lose) time, and something exciting always happens as a result.

That race was pretty bonkers. The overall got tighter between Vergier and Bruni.

Vernier said they weren't coming to snowshoe next year. Did he mean the uci?
That would be a bummer to lose another (the only remaining) US stop.

I know they'd have to get permission from the USFS for most places in CO, which would likely take forever... but I wish they'd bring some racing back to CO.

I think they avoid west coast based on cost. It would be amazing to see them do something out here on mountains that would allow some big vert!?

Probably true.
I'm not sure the vert really matters though. They're still only aiming for a 3-4 minute track, and you don't need a ton of vert to get that. The Euro venues have as much vert as they want, but the tracks are still only using ~1500 feet. I think Mont St Anne might be the most vert of any venue at just shy of 2,000 ft.

It is my hope that Blunk, Blevins and Batten all put up a big result in the XC. Blunk and Batten both seem to be in form and it would be really cool if this opened a door for Blunk to get picked up by one of the biggest teams. Blevins just because he seemed to start the season so strong, and it would be cool to see him end on a high note.
