Dialed and Vital are starting to post up from MSA. I hope it doesn't get too wet, it'd be nice to go out on two non-weather affected races.

That DH Course wet would venture into the dangerous territory. Those rock gardens with slick wheels would be treacherous.

MSA in the wet produced one of the greatest race runs of all time!

Such a crazy run. IIRC, the time he beat was set before it started raining, and everyone else who ran after the rain started was at least 5-10 seconds off the pace.

Also, who can forget Stevie's 2013 MSA winning run. Not as sloppy as Gwin's but still bonkers:

If Logic and/or Loris do well but don’t win, there’s a chance we end up with NINE separate winners AND a TENTH winning the overall. This season is bonkers.

Is it 2024 yet? Not starting a new thread for this, but:

    https://www.brujulabike.com/calendar...-mtb-uci-2024/

2 rounds in Brazil? Oh...hello Lake Placid!
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

No quali or semi points in the last round. So there's points in finals (250 for the win), and that's it.

Protected riders could sit out qualis and semis and it wouldn't make any difference in terms of points.

    seriously!?

I guess it's all for the pride then.

I should have read the top of the PB article lol...

Rule 4.11.013 states: In the qualifying, semi-final and final rounds, riders are awarded UCI World Cup standing points as per the scale in article 4.11.020. However, in the last round of the UCI World Cup season, no standing points for the qualifying or semi-final rounds will be given. The standing and UCI points will be awarded to the riders according to their position in the final only, as per points scale in article 4.11.020.

I suppose it prevents a situation where the overall comes down to the final race, but then gets decided in qualifying (which would be kinda lame). It forces everyone to go all in for finals.

Cant wait to see those runs. Jackie Goldenbullulocks fought through a ton of adversity in his first yr of elite. He missed atleast one race with his appendix inflamed or removed

    What a race.
Bummed for Dakota, but that comeback might actually help him with contract negotiations.

Great end to the season. Absolutely insane race.

Bummed for finn. Bummed to a lesser extent for Dakota. Both of those guys were on pace - would've been cool to see where they landed with a clean run.

Jackson's on another level. Next season will be interesting, especially with Amaury back.

    Things we learned this season:
    1) Jackson is for real fast, despite his size
    2) Dak is a legit top 10 rider right now
    3) there are like 15-20 guys that can seemingly get on any podium at any given race
    4) he’s called Super Bruni for a reason
    5) Gwin has a career option after he retires
    6) the youth of the sport are all amazing.
Finn, Jordan, Jackson etc are all competing at the highest level, add in Pinky when he’s an elite..

    7. The semi finals are pointless, get rid of them.
    8. The coverage is less than ideal and needs major improvement if they expect people to pay for it.

Agree on 7. Agree on 8.
This was my first year watching live so I don't have the nostalgia of the RedBull years. Unpopular opinion: Rob wasn't that good. HE MOSTLY JUST YELLED ALL THE TIME AND DIDN'T GIVE GREAT COMMENTARY!! Gwin is pretty good but needs a better second booth person. The two other guys with him were just awful. I'd rather listen to ARod commentate than them.

It does seem that GCN listened to criticism and brought Gwin in, plus cleaned up a lot of camera stuff. MSA didn't have the "coach cutaway" and the drone shots were in a place that made sense- the long straightaway. The camera person in the first rock section really liked zooming in way too far on the tires slipping on the rocks and you couldn't see any of the actual rider especially when slips and crashes happened. And it wasn't just a few riders it was every one. Fire that person for sure.
