Yeah man! It is defiantly more of a yellow/orange, not a pure gold. I’ll personally be going for contrast.

Finally got a chance to ski my FL113 yesterday. Still recovering from shoulder surgery and taking it easy, but was able to put a good amount of energy into the ski and open up the speeds a bit. Great snow, windbuff everywhere.

Conclusion... holy crap the construction of this ski is rad. So smooth, but still responsive and poppy. Very rewarding snowfeel for fast skiers on big mountains.

And good news everyone... skis are through finishing and QC, and should be shipping in the next couple days via air carrier (Fedex Global). I will follow up via email as soon as I have an expected delivery date. Cheers!!!!

I'm having analysis paralysis on bindings.
I really want to put touring bindings on them since they're so light, but the $600+ costs are driving me back to some p14s or something.

Is there a way to have something similar to cast but be able to ski downhill on the tech binding? For example, I'm interested in the C113 for untracked resort days and for backcountry. Would love to be able to ski it with my alpine setup as well as my AT setup - is that possible without too much hassle? I'm coming from they world of tele so still learning the nuances of the fixed heel world. Else I'm thinking I would just put on an AT setup that I felt comfortable skiing at resorts on.

(As far as I can tell, the cast tech binding is not able to be used for the downhill).

I would rather ski the duke pt then a tecton for downhill but the weight difference is huge. But that’s probably what you want as long as you don’t care about weight. And do you have pin holes on your alpine boots, you are running a 50/50 boot correct?

the duke Pt will accept all soles.

I don't have pin holes on my Alpine boots. I didn't think about it much when I bought them and wanted high-performance boots for resort days (I assume high-performance boots don't normally have pin holes? I guess I should have thought about that more...). I do care about weight a little, but I'll check out both the Duke and the Tecton - thanks all.

I guess the other option is to buy the C113 for touring and the R120 for resort pow days...

This is definitely the "I care about high performance skiing" solution.

but I think it sounds like you are after the Duke PT, where you can ski alpine any time, and then take the toe off, leaving a tech toe when skinning up… is that right?

Marshal, how do you think the R99 stacks up to the old Legend Pros?

I’m intrigued to hear more feedback on the 113 shape and how it compares to other long radius traditionally mounted powder chargers. I think I’m in the market but apprehensive about the flat/reverse camber. I’ve never quite been able to adapt to that profile.

There are some apt comparisons in the appropriate thread.

I don't think I could ski on a Catholic binding.

I'm on Roxas with tech fittings.

Tectons are like $600 and my Scottish essence writhes.

Does $415 produce a better essence?

LMK next time you are around and you can take out my pair. Given that we have really enjoyed the same skis in the past, honestly, I think you’d dig em.
