Ski Shop Recs: Verb & Cham

Need to rent skis. Starting in Verbier, then moving down to Cham. Googling brings me to shit websites offering packages including snow pants & helmets...I'm not schlepping my skis from LA but will have my boots so I just need a sweet set of snowblades & poles....

    Any recs? TIA.

Absent any hard recommendations I will say this -
Most Euros do not own their own skis. There will be lots of shops to
rent skis at. With a myriad of style choices at different price points.
But poles ? Rental poles the world over are rental poles. I bring a set of
3 piece collapsible poles (BlackDiamond) that I can fit in a large wheeled duffle I use.

    Have fun.

All the shops in Verbier are good (and expensive). Mountain Air, Number 1 and Ski Service are all up near Medran and have a good range. Here’s my 20% discount link for ski service. They give me a 10% kick back on top so I can give you a few tips if you want if you PM me.

Cham: I suppose that it depends on what you’re planning to ski there when you go but I had good success with Concept Pro Shop at the base of MIDI the last couple of times that I went. Was last there in 2015 so it’s been a minute and I am sure I didn’t see every shop because there are a lot, but I did a good amount of research at the time and Concept was the spot. Good selection of demo free ride/pow skis.

Ha I actually own that bag. Going to Paris, Cannes and stop in Italy first so yea, I’m not dragging that shit around the world with me. Family also in tow so not exactly a fast and light trip…

Concept Pro and INTERSPORT - ARGENTIERE (small, roadside shop before Grand Montets) both have served us well

As others have said. For Chamonix go to Concept Pro. It's between the Aiguille du Midi Tram and the mountainside. Walk towards the big parking lot, just next to the underpass. For buying cheap stuff. Decathlon in the middle of town and Technique Extreme.

Also agree with the Verbier recommendations of Mountain air (Very good but expensive) and Number 1.

Not much to add to the Cham recommendations above; in Verbier on a traveling light trip we rented skis and poles at Evasion Sports since I wanted to be on Stoechli skis.
