Salt water basics
So looks like I might be getting a chance to wet the line in Okinawa area. I’ve got a 7wt salt water rod. Will I be massively undergunned? What else do I need to know about salt water fishing? I have no clue about it at all! Don’t really have much of a budget to run out and buy a Buch of gear. I would be happy to catch a few fish and enjoy the islands.

So I found a nice shallow bay at high tide and managed to catch a small Dory snapper. Bucket list item of catching a fish in salt water checked!

Let's have some pics, eh?
What does an Okinawan snapper look like?
My family was stationed near Naha in the late 1960's.

Cool DJ, I’m sitting in Naha as I write this. Good stuff down this way. Tomorrow pow on the north island
