Eastcoast Roll Call TwoTwo/TwoThree A Slow Start to a Big Finish
Finally after our second summer we have seem some snow fall on our mountains. Killington gets the thumbs up for the World Cup [sorry benny] and first chairs have left the terminal. As usual a selection of fine soups will be displayed on these pages, though we are hoping for more skiing than soup slurping.
There are rumors of a mid winter Maine Mini, looking forward to heading NE for quality times. The pricing of tickets these days make minis tough to plan.
Here's to everyone getting after it!
I would guess around 7" fell but it was fighting the warm ground melting it and the weight of compression. That being said, Skiing is Still Fun!
LJ and I explored a bit
Back up
The Driven One laid his mark at that place with the deck chairs on a rope
37º mid mountain this afternoon and freezing tonight should set it up nice and firm.

Interesting website shows the plow patterns of Vtrans. This could be helpful for those of you who don't have proper snow tires.

I'm glad they opened and psyched it was top to bottom ("walking required" sign notwithstanding), but this might be one of the more adventures opening days here I can recall.
The sign said "wicked sporty below midstation", and they aren't lying. It was pretty sporty above it, too; I think someone really wanted to be open today, because I've definitely seen better conditions behind closed signs here in the past. Nothing groomed and some of the whales looked like they were ready to swallow ski tips, but there were also some pretty good turns to be had.
It should only get better for the foreseeable future, I'd guess another 12 hours of snowmaking temps down low would be enough to be properly top to bottom.

Cannon won't open until Dec 3. Hopefully I can get a Loon day or skin up before then... just finished a great running season last saturday with my second 50k. Feeling fresh and ready! I would be down for a mini-mag at the Loaf if it aligns with my schedule. Would be fun to all car camp in the lot and hotbox someone's van. with farts, of course.
Peruvian, I will text you about the tele fest thing. I might be into that. Is Bolton cool with lot car camping? Otherwise I might car camp at K that weekend. It's been so warm on the Cape and the fishing is just stopping.
Hopefully we get snow. Not snain.I <heart> hot tele-moms
