Sunapee with 31" on Wed. Sunbowl lift opening up mid day was a treat for more untracked
Little Crotched mtn closed Tues/Wed with no power and 35" of snow. Opened on Thurs for a day of untracked in the sun. Under the pines was the place to be for me

Missed the storm days but was able to get out for a bit this morning. No more cheap St Patty’s day tix but the kooks were still out at Mt Ellen.
Lot more snow, last week this plaque was still at eye level.
Still nice and soft.

Clipped a submerged stump[in reality a 6-7' tall dead tree one] that deflected the outside ski below the 3' balsam crown I was looking to cut above. Straddled it and things went awry, spun and down. one ski off and one pointing straight down. Dug the toe out and got released, shook off and said "good to go".
Lurker Jerry and I had a great time
Even got a brief burst of sun!
Snow really settled overnight, no more blower
but the best base in 3 years.
Todays menu offered untracked North Lynx runs, lift hasn't spun since 10:30 Wednesday, so I'll the one of these
Can I get that again please?
And for dessert
41º currently bob The snow was really fucking wet and made me injury nervous so didn't push too long.

in the meantime : yes, we have a base just in time for spring. and yes i can get home while it's still light out. and it's that time of year when day ticket$ are strictly optional.

Recall skiing mrg one day in the early 80’s with pops who’d worked with her late husband- we took a few laps with her and then took a break - she busted out the pipe over coffee I was just mesmerized.
Talk about a force. Total badass.

Low angle zipper lines at Ragged. Enforcer 88 will turn, but not ideal for out-of-shape legs.
Probably less forgiving this morning.

At least 6” of fresh from midnight to noon at Smuggs. Fussy Dutchman and I were 2nd and 3rd down Freefall after the rope drop. Afternoon laps on the birthday bowls were excellent.
Heel side pitted.

If that were really Peruvian he wouldn’t have mutes earth tones on. He would have on seriously bright frs gear from head to toe.
The yellow helmet is a nice touch, but not enough to convince those of us in the know.
