This weekend and last weekend. I'm not going to be surprised if that's a trend. Trying to park at Barker around noon on Friday felt more like a weekend then a weekday, too.
The third-hand report was that the skier count was in the neighborhood of 12k last weekend, which is well below the numbers Kirchner mentioned on a podcast on reference to peak days in 2021, so the traffic situation may just be the new normal for a while.

I need to! When’s the wedding? And more importantly- the bachelor party.

Platty today was the right call (over Hunter - see up thread). Sunshine and soft snow ruled most of the day.
Blockbuster at the open. Wound up it was worthy of 9 repeat laps.
We didn’t venture into the trees as there was a pretty significant crust on anything that didn’t get much traffic (and the snowpack is quite thin). For example, Freefall early was survival skiing but once it got more traffic, it was much better.
It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been comin' to see
To forget about life for a while
Chili and cheesesteak quesadilla made for an interesting afternoon.

Finally made it to a local little hill I'd been meaning to hit, Veteran's Memorial. Tiny little hill at like 240' vert but a fun scene with T-bar and rope tow. Snow was proper fucked from the rain event, with a good 1/4" of crust on top of mashed potatoes. The one run I did on an ungroomed trail was unpleasant but survivable. Groomed surface was nice spring-like conditions. Also, soda/chips/candy was a buck each and the ticket was free for everyone, so that was a bonus.

Wow doesn't Sunday river limit ticket sales?
While Cannon isn't perfect it's never that crowded. Zoomer triple down indefinitely so you have to lap the tram to ski some terrain.
Woods are filled in but I only went up. I felt the crust was too sketchy for down so I went down mittersill.
The crust was high risk to twerk a knee and not that fun.
Have a great day!
@singlecross Japan looks sweet. I was really close to doing a trip there this year but decided south Africa instead to volunteer in a rural school and do some surfing and trail running. But your pics... Wow
Feb should be good in New England

Nope. It sounds like things weren't EpicLiftLines bad once they could actually get folks on the hill, other than being a little understaffed due to everyone diverted to help out with parking.
Hell, it was probably more disruptive to the mountain earlier in the week when one of the lodges couldn't serve anything but salad.

I was on the hill until about 11 am this morning. I can't speak to other parts of the mountain, but the Barker quad line never looked to be horrible, and by 10:30 it was under 10 minutes. Took a lap over to check out Merrill Hill with one of the guys I work with, skied onto that lift, and then had a short wait to get onto the South Ridge quad to get back to Barker. Trails had people on them but it wasn't Killington on a weekend crazy, so I'd think the parking and road access is currently the limiting factor for total capacity.
I hadn't heard about the salad issue, when/where was that?

snowmageddon here. we were looking at 4-8 this morning and it’s gonna be on the high side or surpass it. every road is one lane, parallel parking to the curb abandoned. haven’t check the weather for the northern greens but tomorrow should be good
