It's nice they round them up and fence them in like that.

Not really my family, but my brother has in-laws who moved to The Villages about 3-4 years ago. Bro is a redneck Republican and even he says that place is whack.

My late in laws lived in an adult community right by The Villages. That whole area is whack.

    The motherfucking villages.

At this moment I'm about half an hour away at my Dad's place visiting. He had the good sense not to buy in there.
My recently retired sister otoh just bought a new place in the villages and in less than a year, her place has appreciated over 100k. It's nuts around here.
She's a DC expat from one of the nation's biggest law firms so she can handle the ding a ling 'Patriot' fucks.

FWIW - it's maybe the largest retirement community in the country and by no means all fucktards. But prolly mostly.
That development straddles 3 counties, for scale.
Never seen so many old dudes in expensive muscle cars. Vettes, Chargers and Mustangs evvvvvverywhere.

I beg my pops to get outta Florida but at 87, widowed and totally dialed in, He's cemented in now. 22 yrs Navy, 14 in the Pentagon.
He retired from the DC/ Pentagon life out to the panhandle of West Virginia originally, so Florida was a step up, oddly, if that's even possible.

I fucking hate Florida. It has many cool aspects, but I could never make a go of it, as much as he wishes I would; He knows better tho.
And he's a solid Democrat. The amount of tv political ads here has been about 3 in 5 commercials, and nasty as can be.

As a Navy brat I lived in Pensacola, Key West, and Jacksonville. Over it.
    Good food tho.

I bet a guy with all his hair and a sturdy pair of hips could really do well around there.

    Hence the chlamydia.

But I mean at that age, who cares about a little burn. You're just happy to pee.

I had to Google the Villages. Have you seen the number of sand traps on their golf courses??? It’s terrible, something must be done.

From scraping the sand to full completion takes roughly 90 days and they're pumping those homes out in mass tracts.

The newest ones I saw driving by on the turnpike were about 12' - 15' apart. For miles and miles...and maybe 100' from the Interstate.

My parents were at the Vineyards in Naples. They were tennis nuts and loved the warmth and being as far away as possible from me.
Dad was a Democrat with a big D and hated the local politics.

They had few friends, so that when their end times came, I was the only one left to make sure they were taken care of.

With a growing family, a high stress full time job and a ski addiction, I can't describe how much I loathed the trips down there.

I loved my parents and I think they loved me, but it was always a weird ride.

Personally I think anyone that lives in Florida is an idiot, I’m only here for the water around it. Gulf of Mexico in the summertime is unbeatable.

Shouldn't true Patriots call it the Gulf of America, or the Gulf of Florida?

    No way!

Oil spills in the Gulf are Mexico’s problem, let’s keep it that way.

My neighbor goes for a few months...left 2 weeks ago. Golfs, rides, and he also felt the need to tell me he's getting plenty of anal. My wife said she won't be able to look at him again with a straight face.
