Some sort of movie shoot on alpental road this afternoon, kind of comical. Cops, drones, and this Porsche with a gigantic boom camera.

Oh and the skiing was fantastic! Seems like they have plenty of snow to open.

Stevens was empty today with plenty of pockets of soft stuff around. The sun even tried to come out for a bit.

Knee deep soft at 1:00 pm in the Stupids.

Early crowd never grew, ski on lifts all day.

Just grey with patches of blue util 12:30 when the whaler whiteouts started rolling through.

    Tomorrow will be killer.

Ski in. The top could use a little more snow - I forgot how constricted it can be early season. It was much better below the dog leg.

Thought today would be the first Ikonic rush at Crystal, pow day on a weekend...but the cams make it look quite tolerable. Did I avoid a pow day for nothing!?

They're nearing being parked out, if not that already, according to their app.

Lines don't look too bad on their webcams though

Ha, that's what I used to think, but now there' no lodge to hang out in and inflict fomo on your acquaintances.

Mission's got to be le tits today. #crustal got 17" at the base overnight.

I skied Thursday and Friday at Mission, amazing snow quality and the snow depth is good but it’s basically 2-4’ of full depth facets over fractured basalt right now. It’s really sensitive to loads and there were new windslabs everywhere yesterday after the wind Thursday night. Still getting widespread settlement and any mitigation they did with explosives and ski cuts ran full depth and full path. The next few days should be interesting, glad I’m working this weekend.

PNW 2022/2023 Season - It's Triple Dip La Niña Time!

Stevens was deep today…had a few runs of face shots. Knee to waist deep for the most part. It was a great day for the Shiro.

Stevens was also parked out…and Jerry’s army took over Hwy 2. The cars went another 20-30 in both directions. Pedestrians causally crossing in front of vehicles. There was even a superstar who was trying to double park. WSP was on the scene but not doing much. In my 20-years of skiing here, I’ve never seen it like that.

I need to get up to Stevens and use my $150 pass credit. Hopefully on a day where people aren't parked on the highway.

WSP was very vocal on social media about the wisdom of skiers at Stevens. Hinted at the possibility of a fleet of tow trucks if things conitnue.
