Not sure what forum this should go in, but happened while hiking so into the outdoors forum it goes...

Bumped against something, was worried I broke my screen until I heard a hissing and saw a bunch of smoke. Just in the time it took to get it out of my zippered pocket the phone had managed to completely melt the inner mesh of my shorts pocket. I threw it down the trail and it smoked for a good few minutes more.

I normally keep my phone in a chest pocket of a base layer while I am skiing, often hid by at least one more layer of clothing and a backpack chest strap. After this, I definitely won't be keeping it there anymore.
