Query: Freeride Systems: Another quik run of Hard Bross, a Vest, or Anorak?

moved this convo from hard bross thread...

edit 11.15.22 added XL option on vests so XS, Small, Med, Large, XL

*edit 11.7.22*. follow this link to sign up/indicate your interest: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...E_1Yg/viewform

just thinkin outloud here.......we have a short window opening up btwn big jobs....we could do a small batch run of something fun....we are looking for regulator/powerdry fabrics for a dec or jan production of fleece bross so not ready to do those yet...

so, we have a few weeks before we start our next bulk private label job....wondering if anybody was not served with the hard bross in terms of size and color? im in warehouse today looking at some wild neoshell color fabrics i could move into production for a short run....or, i have some other interesting patterns i have made in past i have been dabbling with....

such as.... a spin on a black hooded anorak we made for our former japan distributor years back. i cut the sleeves off one about 2 years ago, and made a hooded neoshell vest...turns out i have worn this thing probably 200-300 days and it is my favorite garment for many different situations...i wear it with short and long sleeve shirts, bross hoodies, harrison jackets, and even over antero jackets.....i dont know why i love this thing so much...the pics show my chop on the sleeves, but since then i actually made the pattern correctly in cad and the armholes are now not nearly as big as the pics show on my beta test vest

anyway i added some velcro patch bays to front chest and a blacked out logo for stealth...but that was just on the one i cut up and altered... could make these in colors and less antifa looking....this is made from neoshell...and has a back pocket and front kangeroo pouch ....

or could do the full anorak w sleeves, or the hard bross again for ppl that wanted dif colors and or missed their size.....

im betting i can do the anorak vests where we can sell them for like $125, or full sleeve model $150ish or we can do the hard bross again with more colors.... and if its presales and im not speculatively sewing we can sell hard bross for like $175 but this would be the end pricing and no discount codes could be used....

we have nearly sold out of antero jackets for the season...but i do not have a big enough window to make more right now...they take months to complete....so if we are going to do something fun its got to be small batch...

lemme know if there is any interest...

chopped this one by hand...japan anorak, did not have velcro, not a vest, no handmade zipper pulls, no pulled up front which exposes bottom of whatever u wearin underneath (which ends up making a drop tail)....will make an actual production sample from the real pattern to post if there is interest ....
may post this up in a different thread....

edit update with vest (1/2 rak =) pic of sample
    and
file photo of full sleeved anorak
    * note we will not be using embroidery , but new labels found in last pic which are 1/2" x 1.25"

I like tge hooded vest. Not many companies making such a piece either.
Another thing ive wanted for a while that companies dont make is a hooded puffy vest. Lots of companies make one for the ladies but skip the hood for the men

That vest is pretty sweet could see it being great for touring and skate skiing

Mint color hardshell is still #1 for me but I would be into a vest or anorak in that material

^i was thinking same when i first decided to cut sleeves off, i didnt want to trap heat in arms, wanted water protection on core body and head, needed to be breathanle for hotter climate uses, but able to layer to wear in cold too.. so after 2-300 days in it, im convinced this is what i can wear almost every day but 70 deg + .

those front and back pockets run horizontally across the entire garment. so u can even get skins in there but u are working behind the back, ive also kept imoortant papers in there when biking point a to b for work related things and they dont get crunched up like putting something in fromt while himching over hanfldle bars, same ecen sitring in car seat ....to a point

    Anoraks would be sweet!

A request which probably isn't serviceable because of sewing patterns you guys have, but I would love a run of something in a smaller size, like a normal small. I can't imagine I am the only small person around here and one or two of the big dudes might even know a lady who would like a unisex jacket.

Can I even vote in this thing haha? HOODED VEST!

Black/Charcoal/Moss with patch bays and "deleted" black Japanese logo = what makes this thing cool and unique.

As Wes said I think I would use the hell out of this for XC, touring, fall MTB etc etc etc.

If you could make that vest in blaze orange so I can wear it for MTB/trail runs during hunting season I’d be eternally grateful

Great idea. Living in kentucky of the north now i just went to value village yesterday and bought 2 x $4 orange t shirts. This vest would be much more preferable this time of year

shell vest is funny and awesome, but I'd buy one if the length is more bross than antero

plus my obligatory call for small tall anteros again

My vote is for anorak with sleeves, but think the vest is very cool and would buy one immediately. And I second wanting a run of smaller/tapered cut jackets! A women's med Antero 3 would make MrsMcShortyShorts very happy

The Japanorak looks pretty cool. With sleeves would definitely suit my needs better than sleeveless.

Ok ok, quick snaps of some colors we have to use.

Colors we can make quite a few from:
Earth Brown, Moss (same as Hard Bross....I really like this one), Belgian/Royal Blue, Burnt Orange, BLACK, Ice Blue (same as Hard Bross)....

Earth on the left.....orange we will touch on in the next post.

Super Bright Orange (almost Blaze with visible gridding on the face fabric....I'd take my chances and use it hunting personally....LIMITED QUANTITY OF THIS COLOR) and Burnt Orange

That bright orange is blaze enough for me! I’m usually in areas that don’t see a lot of hunting activity so would be quite comfortable in something that is close enough to blaze orange

ANORAK?!? WOW... wishes do come true

Next you'll be making neoshell pants & bibs

And while I'm at it, Rex hinted at a possible trg run of the soft primary/mid layer Bross?

I live in this thing including hump (with the hood up). Nothing like getting nailed by the grim reaper.
