I hear New Castle is good too.
Personally, I’d just ride down Brush Creek to the Rio Grand for conditioning for now.

You’ll be home, before you’d even get your bike off the car.

Don't let shred fool you. There are 8+ snowy sections (with icy singletrack in the middle) still on Rio Grande between Stein park and this spot. It's getting better, but may still be a chore on road bikes until next week or so.

I rode up valley to Stein Bridge around 2pm yesterday and there was only one drift down by the bridge.
    It’s been really warm.

Are the Rifle trails dog friendly?
    Are they allowed?
Is there water this time of year?
    Are there Rattlesnakes?

Awesome ride this morning. Divide across Campground to West Snowmass Creek.

Should be chilly and wintery all weekend up there. At a minimum there should be good meadow skipping with a foot of fresh!

I had my gear in the car this morning but couldn’t find the window. Bummed to miss the pow pow, but it’s been a good season. Headed out of town unfortunately

Twas a fun 9" for the first few runs early am, but you needed to be skiing a fresh line. Rock hard frozen ocean lurking underneath.

That’s why you skin up Snowmass!

The domed over terrain in the backcountry will be good.

I have to get my snowmobiles off the top Sunday, so I’ll probably be at the Sundeck for the festivities.

I haven't made an Ajax closing day in a few years and this one was worth it. My oldest and I were out for a few hours and anything west facing was very nice. Our last lap down at 2:30 had our heads on a swivel the whole time, but it's closing day so it kinda comes with the territory.

I think, based on watching the stake yesterday, it's likely more...

I can't get out until Friday unfortunately.

Another 5" on Snowmass and I didn't wake up and get my shit together. Knee and muscles finally recovered from last weekend, so maybe it's for the better.
