    PSA: BD MoMix cheap skins

Several retailers have some BD MoMix in ultralight and regular Glidelites plus a 20% off coupon. Comes out to around $85. Can’t beat that for decent skins and they’re available in most widths and lengths.

I'm a giant weight weenie but I would recommend the glidelite over the ultralite. The BD glue is so sticky and the ultralite skins are so thin you can rip the skin in half trying to pull it off your ski. It happened to a friend of mine and I have read about it happening to others. Also the tip attachment seems unnecessarily fragile.

Good point. I wonder if BD would warranty those skins if they ripped like that. I had a pair of Glidelites that started off super sticky and the glue hydrolized in less than a year. They sent me new ones.

I’ll second that. Big fan of BD skins, the glidelites are great, the ultralites are junk

Anyone know if the small (157-168cm) would work on a 156 ski? Need skins for the wife.

I thought the tip/tail hardware was already installed? That's how my Ascensions came. You can't trim them shorter, but I am wondering if 1 cm shorter is within the range?

You can always drill out the existing rivets, cut and then reinstall new pop rivets to make them shorter if necessary.

Looks like it's riveted in on these ones. Could cut it and install one of the BD tip loops with screws (or pomoca or g3 or whatever) , but they are kind of expensive.

Might be able to drill out the rivets and reuse the tips with appropriate screws?
