Pendleton has a machine washable line. Believe they're 100% wool. Feels like it and acts like it. I have one and it's great. And white. So it goes tossed in the wash. An ex got it for me at the outlet store. Would recommend.

I have a light green wool blanket that is in the back of my vehicle. Summer time to put down on the ground for say an outdoor concert, or on the metal stadium seat in the fall at a game, and in winter just in case it is needed for any time would end up stranded or stuck for some reason of course. I had it out for a hay ride a few weeks ago on a cool night and noticed it had some dirt and spots on it. I threw it in the washer just the other day and then into the dryer without harm or any type of shrinkage. Did not even now that I think about it use the Woolite either. No name brand on it, not even sure if it was a hand me down from grandparents or where it came from. Years ago, my parents had my father's Army blanket from the 50's and growing up it was always used for similar riding in the trunk of the car.

Not sure if a Army/Navy Surplus store would handle them any more or not (unfortunately there is no longer any Surplus store in our area any more.)

I have several surplus wool blankets from multiple countries. Older ones are 100% as newer tend to be 80/20%.

The market has gotten picked over in the last few years as people prepare for the coming disaster. You can still find them but expect to pay in the neighborhood of a Benny.

    Edjumakate yoself on wool care.

If you have to use this.

I have a sweet collection of pendleton wool shirts (that i dont ever wash), and a few pendleton wool blankets. Hell, even my dog was rescued from the pendleton pound 6 years ago now.

That said, I think wool blankets are overrated. Id rather have soft cotton/acrylic. Wool blankets end up being outdoor blankets, which turn into very dirty ground mats really quick.

SA Alpaca or thick wool all the way. Alpaca is soft but doesnt felt the same as wool. Felted wool over the bed most of winter. Throw in a mexican blanket here or there for the beach

FWIW I have a wool blanket that my great, great grandfather brought to New Brunswick from Derry when he immigrated. He gave it to my grandfather who gave it to me. Apparently it was a blanket they'd put over their laps while driving wagons.

It is still in incredible shape...we dry clean it every few years or so. It lives in a basket by the couch and gets pulled out on cold winter nights. Love that thing.

Going to try Faribault. Deciding between between the Frontier (11 lbs) and Cabin (7 lbs). Frontier says dry clean only on the site but Faribault said that is only because of the heft and not the material or weave. Guessing front-load only.

Exactly what I was thinking. Where have I seen similar, yet blander, blankets. Oh yeah, the Army Navy store. Probably what I will end up doing. Need a base for car camping in the Bronco when She/It is done.

The craftsmanship is top drawer. The price is right. The patterns are rad. They are very warm and will last a lifetime.
