I won't argue about the being nuts

I have rack that holds skis from the tips and middle of tails in the closet, very secure

made with just 2x4 & DW screws

True, as far as it goes.
Counterpoint; The deflection is many, MANY orders of magnitude greater than hanging by their tips too, eh?

Perhaps there's nothing to be gleaned in the comparison - but having actually bent a ski, and observing first-hand the forces required and related factors, I'm a huge skeptic that hanging from the tips is likely to actually damage your skis. I probably wouldn't do it myself, but I wouldn't be issuing dire warnings like "You're gonna die" if someone found it a useful thing to do. [But we've beat the poor horse into mush at this point. I think I'll just shut up now]

    These: https://www.grizzly.com/products/gri...SABEgJdSfD_BwE

One of the other resident quiver kings turned me on to them a few years back. There are two 6-shelf racks there. Used to be $30 a piece and are still pretty close to that. I think lag bolts cost me another $10. If you have the room, it's the best storage method I have come across...plus it's cheap!

Thats ^^ the shit-everywhere method, I got some skis vertical, some horizontal, the key is to stack a lot of them which ever you use,

I put brackets in front of a window and all the way to the ceiling in a room I never look out of which is using space that is normaly not used

Holy crap Banditman... that looks like a decision-making nightmare!

    In a good way.

I create a similar setup to your rack but less refined using these...

Two of those hold 2 pairs each.

Can't find pictures but made a rack a couple houses ago with wooden dowels that stuck out from a 2x6. Bindings sandwiched between the dowels. Covered dowels in thin plastic tubing. Dowels were long enough to hold two pairs of skiis between each pair of dowels. Worked well. Good for garage but not sexy time looking for inside. Fine for dry climates shit for wet climate with no garage heat.

Looking to build a sexy time rack for indoor ski storage. Who doesn't want to see skiis every day inside! Sexy time for sure

Holy shit Bandit Man. Impressive collection.

Talk about analysis paralysis. I only have a 3 ski quiver and sometimes I throw all 3 in the roof box because I can’t decide.

There is a little truth to that. I just get around it be narrowing it down to the 2-3 pairs that might work for that day, throwing them in the truck, and figuring it out on the hill.

I use a ski strap and the skis hang from the straps not the tips

i don't have assloads of room like you dentists, otoh i aint paying for RE i don't need and fake titty's

The skis in the most common rotation are closeted right next to the front door so thats 4 pair in as much space as 4 pair can take up, a spot for the boot dryer, built with some 2x4 and DW screws so pretty cheap eh

these adjustable racks are awesome cuz you can stack 3 pair on an arm and as you can see I'm stacking skis over the window so I don't have to look at my asshole neighbors, got 223 DH/ an xc waxing form and tele's all on the same arm

From a physics perspective it would be better to set them on the edge side instead of the topsheet side. There is sagging, aggravated by the weight of the bindings. Also bad for camber AND rocker like that..
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

Actually what I do is launch my skis into space into zero gravity and call Elon Musk to send down 2 or 3 pairs that I'm going to use that weekend... just to be safe.

that seems like the way to do it. Cheap, easy, and green cause it’s all electric and space, and who doesn’t love space?!? And yellow school buses?!?

do you ever worry about gravitational pull on binding screws on rear entry into our atmosphere?
