Considering the price of beers at Octoberfest I'd call that a smoking deal.

Not sure who this guy was, but he seemed to enjoy himself.

No it did not. Good snow and even better lift lines. I decided the kid should learn there’s more to life than sixth grade math. He seemed okay with it.

Complain about the snake all you want, but Alta delivers. FKNA nice out there today.

This morning, there were even coppers checking vehicles for tires and/or stickers at the foot of the canyon. I acknowledged their service.

am snowbasin passholder and ikon. Thinking of doing deer valley on Friday because I'll never use all 7 days and i've never been. Currently Bald and Flagstaff are open - Empire is not.

Is this a bad idea and I should probably just stay at snowbasin?

While it is never a bad idea to ski DV, I would wait for more coverage. You will want to ski X-files (which is off of Daly/Empire) and Mayflower

But only 1 of 7, so as Warren said “you’ll be.. one more older when you do…”

Agree with Schindlerpiste, but go Friday and return another time. Can’t speak for DV this week but LCC crowds are down so take advantage of DV before ALL the pretty folk arrive from LA, NYC and TX…

Why wouldn’t you check it out on what looks like a refillish day? Sounds splendid. Never been there myself, one day.

    QFT
Top of the line is the GMD. Town and lodges have to figure out a shuttle to get people from Wildcat to Albion.
Rope tow works but certainly sucks, especially for locker holders and employees.

    Windy today.
2 feet of snow and 5 feet of wind Thurs night/Friday am?
Wish I had a pic of the wind transport coming thru the Castle/Sugarloaf sadde. Curious what the control plan is. Could make some really big avalanches.

thanks for the advice everyone, the only reservation was perhaps the lack of lifts being open as I have no idea how that place works. I'll probably go so if anyone wants to ski yellow flylow top and blue pants.

Looks like most of the bird is on wind hold too. Glad I checked before driving up, tomorrow could be a bit spicy

Scariest kitty ride i've had, also scary was getting half a dozen great high speed wind buff turns before sudden transition to wind hammered hard pack.
