Sadly the whole resort will be closed between Memorial Day and June 17.

Anyone been up to Millicent lately? I've got a few days to burn at Brighton, seems to be the only remaining weekday lift option.

It’s fun, a bit bumpy. Hard to do a lap without hitting a park feature. Go early. The bowl is closed unfortunately.

I just tried to go up because the park is pretty fun. Unfortunately, the power is out they are working on fixing it. I saw a couple of cherry picker trucks heading up when I was heading down.

So where are we at? Gondola still alive, but first we will have enhanced expedited bus service with stops at Alta and Snowbird only. No stops at lower canyon trailheads. Winter operation only. Tolling will be in place for private passenger vehicles.
    https://ksltv.com/553870/canyon-gond...wasatch-front/

This seems like a win for folks who don't like the gondola idea:

"While RTP details a variety of potential projects to accommodate Utah’s growing population over the next three decades, the project that garnered the most attention during Thursday’s open comment period prior to the WFRC vote was phase 3 of a plan to alleviate congestion in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Phase 1 (2023-2032): enhanced bus service, tolling/congestion-based pricing, roadway improvements, and mobility hub.
Phase 2 (2033-2042): avalanche snow sheds and trailhead improvements
Phase 3 (2043-2050): gondola and base parking station..."

Valuable info, thanks. Depending on the toll and the tolling mechanism, this should drive many people to the bus, which is a good thing. Although I am worried (confident actually) the enhanced bus service and P&R parking will not be enhanced enough.

If i can get reliable bus service to ride grizzly again i would be soooo happy. Key word reliable, as in not standing outside in a blizzard like a boner fighting with 12 yo boys for a spot on the bus down at 230 on a sunday.

    Very worried about bcc.

This. And if the toll is $20+ there are going to be knife fights for spots on buses.

10-13 year old boys seem prone to throwing up on the bus. Twice in the last couple of years I have had my boots coated with puke. In one case a small group was gorging on a giant bag of candy.

I'm looking forward to the day they announce the "enhanced" bus schedule it's just the pre-22/23 schedule.

Regulator has not been groomed this week. Today, it was creamy smooth goodness by mid-morning.

I loved listening to the commentators at the hole skim...especially when people went by without trying it out.

Main chute train yesterday AM. 2 first timers in our group of 8.

At Bird proper the slush bumps were amazing - way better than expected honestly. Silver Fox was so rippin top to bottom. By noon the last 500 vert was real soup. Interesting to see how things hold up over these next 2 weeks.

Sorry guys for the hiatus in posts, been getting after it a lot, but working through some stuff, but im back!

Decided to go to the Uintas yesterday for a solo jaunt!

Twas a rad day, but man they are getting cooked quickly... lower / mid elevations were skiing the best - summer snowpack esqe, upper elevations above 10800 were still in a transformative, isothermic state especially closer to cliff bands or exposed rocks, stick to center punching above...

Road is snow logged beyond Cobblerest like mile marker 22 ish

Hayden is getting beat, but things along the southern flank seem to be holding - Agassiz is out for continuous lines

Skied Bald Mountain NE face and managed to link snowfields between cliffs...

Then hopped over to the saddle between Bald and Reids. Booted along the cliff band to the saddle and climbed the shoulder to the snowfield above my helmet and retraced it down to the basin between the two... pretty cool area.

Started to snow for a bit... Looked at my GPS and saw some topo lines that may yield some more skiing on the backside of Reids...

Got back to the sled, went to pull to start and heard the crank snap... FUCK... you probably heard me scream at like 530 pm, no it wasnt thunder....

I tried to fix or work it over, no avail and toured the 12 miles or so from Mirror Lake back to the truck. Left my old gal down by the lake... Retrieval Sunday with a new crank lol, yay me....
