Wasatch 22/23 - Gondolas, grooming highboy, and other comical anecdotes
Meanwhile the valley is a war zone 3 accidents and 12 cars immobile on my block of 1700s. It’s pure ice under the snow

Shout out to altacoup for the free bindings. Much appreciated along w the assistance on getting up the canyon yesterday. Had some great turns w a few more on tap for tomorrow before the long drive home. My kids decided he’s going to the U of U based purely on the skiing.

Thread drift here, but did anyone realize it was a powder weekend?
Lets stoke realign...
kiddo picked up the sign and started walking around the basement as I was stretching. Start advocacy young...
Saturday was all time at Alta, bought some new sticks and tooled around with a few groups. I cruised the whole exit from the Albion (kid in daycare) and was home in sub one hour. Felt existential lol.
Sunday ventured into Neffs with a couple buds, we had to reassess due to the traffic for the canyons, but man was it the right call - snow was deep - fresh lines down Abyss, Hobbs Coulie, + some secondary no names. No instabilities, wind or people - dare i say the exit was even pleasurable (for once).
Limited pics as there was more video taking then anything, but the booter up Hobbs is in!
You took too much man, too much, too much

Good riding with you too, you really came with the peer pressure i needed. Glad I waited out the closure, the drive down was a cruise.
Rode 9-3 at bird yesterday and my legs are toast, came down feeling like id been running a jackhammer all day. I dont think I've had a day without a powder turn this year, its really been incredible. When non/casual skiers ask how the season has been I have to check my enthusiasm lest they think im a crazy person.

Jesus, this thread is tough to read with the destruction of the Wasatch. Hoping to ski Snowbird next Monday with my kid, thankfully he's an early riser and doesn't mind predawn starts.

I can see what looks like powder 8’s off the backside of snow basin. I heard a little about an adventure Details?

Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

today rocked at the resort
Soft velvet turns and fresh piles of PoW to pounce on
Sunny/ was nice to actually see further than 10 feet !
The super deep days are so fun, but days like today pay just as big of a return emotionally

Not sure what you mean, why don't you tell us what you heard? Those tracks looked like they were laid down by people who knew where they were going although WTF do I know about random tracks. I was thinking the long shit exit didn't look worth the few clean upper turns though. To their credit the better fun ways in that drainage were not safe to ski.

I’ll be around Sunday/Mon/Tues if anyone’s around to ski a resort. Got no plans.

What I mean is I can see powder 8 tracks off the backside into the drainage. But I thought someone said SAR had to pull them out of the drainage It seems the juice is not worth the squeeze. West facing but seems like other shots make more sense. But what do I know it just looked cool like a powder 8 competition. TJ Burke?

Snowbird was incredible yesterday and we lucked out on the timing with openings. My kid hit his first double on the windlip off the knucklehead traverse but I’m to stupid to post a video…

Zoom in to see the rider - it’s not me.
I took the below pic from his starting point earlier today, it just didn’t feel right with wind board throughout and big wind loading down to the right. No signs of control work unnerved me - probably unsurvivable if a small pocket released and yer swept off more cliffs than the pic shows. And it’s a bit blind too, ha.
Here’s to all the lines we would like to ski but probably never will. It got skied by someone today though - maybe someday it’ll make sense to me but I dunno, ha. Gate to it is rarely open anyways. Kudos to all the ripping snowboarders I saw today on this peak and definitely saw a few ripping skiers too
