Anyone know a shop that has Marker Alpinist parts or familiarity that would fix a heel piece for me? Went to skimo and they said they don't have any parts and would want me to warranty the binding instead of fixing it. Some pictures of the issue here: https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...question/page2

Another mag typed out a "how to" to fix it but would rather a shop do it than me try to and break something. Skimo tech did confirm this is likely the issue but wouldn't work on it for whatever reason (I guess bc I didn't buy the binding there).

How's the UTA ski bus been on good snow days? Curious about both canyons. Definitely prefer not to drive for obvious reasons, but I'm worried about not getting a spot on the bus on softer days.

get on the bus as far down valley as possible and go mid morning so you arent stuck on it for a long snake up. Leave as early as you can bear it for the ride down. Ive found getting on a down bus to be where the experience really falls apart.

For LCC, getting up is chill AF if you are OK with a lazy start and get on after 10:00. If you want to be there for opening, get on at Sandy Station so you'll get a seat (probably). Getting down, if you want to leave near closing expect a scene that resembles a mashup of a Tokyo subway at rush hour and the fall of Saigon. Not so bad if you get on before 2:30 or after 5:30, and obviously you're more likely to get a seat at any time if you're getting on at Alta.

I took the 8:10 bus from 94th and highland a few saturdays ago and got on - it was about full after everyone at the stop got on. no new snow. Took like 1h10m to get up to Alta, three stops at Snowbird

He’s still here, but doesn’t seem as much this season. Opening day at Snowbird I hit up my favorite safety spot to have Burke and Slaag come wandering in at the same time.

Last time I saw slaag he was skiing on two different skis, like a different brand on each foot.

Skied a comma today as well. Long way to go from the bird for 10 turns but kind of a fun adventure getting out there.

This is not quite accurate. You set the example for sunshine siesta in the minutes before they popped comma!

Wish I was quicker on the trigger on the variation of above pic where he was showing a "PERMANENTLY CLOSED" sign in one hand and "OPEN" in the other.

Best local thread on TGR right now. For those of us who are edge challenged, or curious about surfing the white waves, the Wasatch Splitfest is this weekend. It kicks off tomorrow night at the Clubhouse and a full weekend ticket is $30. I'm pretty hyped up, looks like absolute ideal conditions out there for it. Supposed to be lots of demo opportunities, which isnt that easy to come by as a splitter.

With the opening of E castle today, AT gear sales taking off in SLC in 3..2...1...

Did 3 laps to the top, snow was surprisingly good especially on the more N aspects. Not nearly as slabby as expected. Picking up my 4 year old from daycare now to head back up for some sunnyside laps!!Click image for larger version.

Dropping down to town with ZZZ and friend. First lap was great but variable. Second lap was just powder with some serious surface hoar over it. Finally ticked this descent off my list, thanks ZZZ.

Was up on Gobbler’s today and the Powderbirds were dropping and picking up on Cabin Run and Raymond Glade.

Now, I’d be less than thrilled as a client if I dropped a grand to ski fucking Raymond Glade, but I digress… I was under the impression that this area is Olympus Wilderness and had always heard Wilderness zones are off limits for them. And indeed, I've never once seem them in white pine/maybird. Anyone know the deal?
