NEW SUNNYSIDE LIFT UPDATE
If you hadn't heard, Alta has been busy this offseason removing and replacing the old Sunnyside triple-chair with a new six-person detachable lift. Like most things in our lives these days, global supply chain issues have delayed the delivery and installation of some key elements of the new Sunnyside lift. While the new Sunnyside lift will not be operational by opening day, we are hopeful it will be whisking skiers through Albion Basin before the holiday season.

^ Never saw that coming!
The ski bus situation is just embarrassing. As TFW says, 1st world powder...3rd world delivery. What happens when people took the bus up in the AM but a midday storm closes superior/hellgate? And do these bigger busses have the auto-deployable chains?

The better half turns 50 tomorrow. If I’m not caught up in birthday activities all weekend I’ll try to stop by for a beer and say hi on Saturday.

Between the bigger buses and people bailing on the bus for reasons like this^^ I'm cautiously optimistic this won't be quite as cataclysmic as it first appeared, at least on days with at least semi-decent weather.
Between this and the red tram fiasco it's been a rough year for infrastructure upgrades in LCC. Must be a joy competing the Sunnyside install in these conditions.
Gonna have to ski the Ho to Blackjack and Bypass. Glad I went Bird pass again.

Thank you for making this happen. I will be by in the afternoon with the baby, milk punch, and a little chartreuse colada for sfb.
If schindler digs it, I would be happy to pick up a bottle of 17er Prum from dabs, I think they still have kabi, spatlese, and auslese.

Anyone run 2020 or newer Smith I/O Mag's and want a lens? Bought a replacement lens from the Outside Online 50% off sale, but of course, i have the "slightly older frame" on the I/O mag and the 2020 and newer lenses don't work on the 2019 or older goggles. Paid $60 shipped, $50? Chromapop Sun Green Mirror brand new.

Sent from my iPhone using TGR ForumsI need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Alta closed to uphill
Alta Ski Area is closed to all uphill travel effective immediately. This is to prepare for winter operations and increasing avalanche hazard. Thank you for respecting this closure. Access to Grizzly Gulch and Catherine's pass remains open.
Good for them honestly.

^Yup I agree. But it sure would be nice to get an early opening and let us compact the snow via lifts!
