Heard this radio piece some years ago where scholars analyzed writing going back to medieval times. The conclusion?
Basically, things were ALWAYS better years ago, whether that was 1996 or 1296.
"You think this Renaissance is great? You should have been here in the 13th century."
Was pretty fascinating how they went about discovering this.
Mary's skied GREAT a few weeks ago! ;-)

FKNA those shots are sharp!
No telling how long we’ll be able to make it work, chasing the dream as most here are. Regardless of the duration, and the many stigmas that surround this place, it’s pretty surreal to be living somewhere that was quite literally a figment of my imagination a few years ago. No matter how cliche that may sound, I hope that feeling never goes away, and I’ll try to remind myself of it often.

Good for them, great start to the season. They’re just doing what you taught them. You should be proud.

Yes, and it's been too long.
You are always welcome here and now with the covidz mostly behind us, the guest room is open(besides the waxroom).

Completely separately... I think Brock Landers made some rezzies at The former M6 and it was around $115 a night.
Not as cheap as before, but still about as cheap as one's gonna find in this town and today's economy.
And it's been refreshed a bit methinks.
Ski220 - you got a plan? when should we expect yas?

thank you!
I've been full-time here >20 years and still remind myself, daily, that it is a privilege to be here.
Who knows what the season will bring. I try to ski them as they come — and am grateful for early season pow days (especially when the days are not just "great for early season."
The couple times I've had to travel recently it seems like hotel prices across the country are about 2x what I paid for the same property 2 years ago. It's pretty wild and seemingly across the board.
Today was pretty good:
{^^^those are actually different laps and locations but my friend's body position looks almost identical!}

UpallNight gets paid, that's for sure.
That day to day existence is the most a ski bum can ask for.

Yes, great work with the photos UAN! I've got FOMO for sure.
DJ- I'll get to Jackson to ski sometime this winter and I'd be stoked to meet up with you and others. Unfortunately my arm is still in a sling as I heal from shoulder surgery, and I may not be cleared to ski until the New Year. Then I'll be skiing like a grandpa until I can get into some sort of ski shape. I've barely skied the last few years due to injuries and surgeries. Paying for a life well lived.

WMD - Anytime you can swing it, just holler and we'll connect. I'd be stoked to just tool around, ski some laps, make some turns and swap some stories.
Been a few years since we met at Bridger.

Yeah, Ski all day, eat and sleep with visits to the waxroom to help keep my sanity and skis in tune .
First tracks, Tower 20 for safety meetings and tram lifts into the alpine. Still sounds good.
"Everybody's got a a plan until ...." and 'all plans subject to change'
Pretty much the same as the last few years. Moved over to the S8. Was actually cheaper then the M6 .
Not outside entrances, though slightly bigger rooms (?).
I don't think they did jack at the M6 except double the room rate. (They did a complete reno a few years ago)
And skiing with some fellow mags; that will be tetons.
DJ - want to hear firsthand your Euro skiing impressions. Hope you took some pics.Last edited by Ski220; 11-13-2022 at 10:41 AM.

Skiing has been great on the west side.
Edit- added a horizontal version that'll look better on desktop. First time YouTubing. Still figuring things out.

Good work guys!
Had my first day Friday. Attempted to “teach” our 8 mo old puppy how to ski. Nope. She is not there. I took more nasty spills than all last season combined just to avoid an injury to her. (Went through that with the last pup. Not interested again)
Hope to ski with a bunch of you this year.

Props to the guy who opened up Bobcat, grabbed a Nitwitz, and then squeaked ahead of us for a Brattain's. Strong showing for the second week of November.

I'm constantly getting chicked!
Nah, Definitely a guy in like a golf visor, no helmet. He skied up on us as we were about to drop Brattain's, casually claimed the lines we'd seen on Bobcat and Nitwitz, and then we had him ski Brattain's before our larger group chopped it up haha.
