Sounds like a monday meetup is forming. As usual we will gel as best as we can and go from there.
Fireplace @11 in Casper restaurant - ski ya!
Welcome back Eagle mag, let's get some chair time and catch up.
stoked for turns with Bbear.
Don't be partying down so hard for the MLK day on Sunday night, that you end up rolling in at the crack o'noon on monday.
You should drag out the old ball and chain.

JACKSON 2022/23 {Tetons, Snakes, Gros Ventre, Winds, Wyoming Range, etc.)
@eagleskier- I think you have brought your cousin to prior mag meet ups so don't let that stop you. But I also recognize the silliness of introducing her again to your "internet friends"
I have an appointment at 8:15am so I will be up and out early so we could even plan meet up earlier for Monday Mag Meet up if people wanted.
I will definitely have Andrew accompany me for Monday skiing if he is free tooskid luxury

Yeah. That shot is all time awesome.
Ten foot pole.
But it works. Dynamic. Powder. Action. Yes.

Snowpack getting cranky with new load, rapid warming today. Check obs page! Team went avalanche hunting west side of Albright, bagged a trophy one and a helicopter ride.

Thank you!
Appreciate that. I tend to view the world through a wide-angle lens, so I feel like historically most of my images are made that way. It ebbs and flows — been shooting more with the tele this year than in years past.
If you are really bored and scroll my IG (esp from prior years) you'd see a bunch.(example)
WHEN we get out, we'll play with the wide/ultra-wide angle!
Injured party OK? Hope so.
Also, for @schwerty:

Yep.
It was on my second 4 pines lap; we probably peaked right around that time.
Left the lot at 1:30 and was surprised by a deep rhythmic thrum near the stop light right be the helipad.
Pulled back my sun roof screen and there she was directly above.
We're they okay?

Check out the other obs from the day, and here's the link to the Albright ob:

Sounds like he could snowboard down to the LZ, at least.
Avalanche Summary
Triggered a deep slab avalanche a couple hundred feet below the summit of Albright on the W facing treed terrain leading into the prominent southern drainage into Death Canyon. It ran big and far. Large powder cloud in the drainage below and snapping of trees. Partner was carried 400-600 feet through trees and was able to stop on one eventually. Impacts to right leg and ribs were main injuries. His snowboard was ripped off. We located snowboard and got it to him. He was able to snowboard an additional couple hundred feet to a flatter more open area for a heli evacuation. He wasn’t able to ski out in his condition. Heli was able to land within 50 yards of us. and get three of us out before returning to get our one remaining partner and two SAR members. The biggest of thanks and gratitude goes to the pilot and the SAR members.

^^^^^^^
Sounds like a smart plan ES. Ski ya when it snows again. Hopefully soon
Met up with BabyBear yesterday and had a handful of smoothy laps to re assess the back/leg pain issues. It went surprisingly well.
Thanks for dinking around with me, get so few laps witcha anymore. These last few years have been sucky for social turns.
Snow's still good if not powdery fresh everywhere. Lotsa soft just past the ropes tho.

.
Glad to hear you are doing better DJ.
Would have liked to turn with you and BB, but that was
not in the cards unfortunately.
Stevied got on the same tram as my buddy and I, so we
took a RS lap. The snow was premo. Sparkling and soft.
Than a 4pines.
Finished the day with a Granite. A-B-C’s.
Something I do every few years just to remind myself of
why we stopped. Too arduous.
UAN has me wondering about Pinedale. That was on the
program for today. Guess we’ll be treading even more
carefully. Pics if I see something.

I'm just a caveman. Your snow science world frightens and confuses me. Always thought the trickle was the ticket. But now that PWL is reacting again. Why? Best I can come up with is warmer weather as it was so cold there for a while. This seems to be the main change. What's the real answer?
The new reports are really cool to read btw, kudos to all involved
