Maybe you got lucky? had some good turns in chainsaw and spankys but nothing crazy, and certainly nothing compared to sunday last week, had a run down bushrat where i choked on so much snow i thought i was gonna die.

Still a great day though, slack hopefully good today and all weekend.

On another note, a friend who works for the mountain says to stay off 7th.
They are cannibalizing other chairs to just try and keep it running.
Fitz will close in the next 2 weeks to start prep for the new chair.

Well that's going to suck. Hard to believe they'd need to do this until at least April, but I suppose they don't want to get burned again like they did with Creekside and Red.

Probably they need to pull it down and get some sort of prep work done before the bike season begins as well.

I wonder how a 6 is going to work for the bike park, they’ll have to modify all the bike carriers, or maybe they’ll only load 4 during the summer? loading 4 bikes seems to cause enough confusion in the summer, and they would need another employee at the top if they were loading 6.

    Right. Good point.

I'm heading up today to ski Sunday and Monday. Looks like conditions should be pretty good even if there isn't going to be much new snow.

Same timing for me. Lee and the Spaniards look to have gangbanged the bumps [emoji23] gonna have to go further I guess… snow quality looks good, hope we get a strong March, I’ve got vacation days to burn.

I put in a non suicide skin track ACMG style no lifters climbers left thru mature timber on Cowboy Gorgeous widely spaced trees. Ski pen was 50+ cms so took 1 hrs the first time but 2nd 3rd laps were just 20 mins. That will avoid a lot of Cowboy traffic. Skiers left Apostles also has much less traffic.

Also stuck a few tracks skiers left on Corral and it was untouched yday

Thank you for your service 🫡, found that track today… Australia, Apostles left and a couple Cowboy laps were awesome today. Highlight for sure Cowboy trees, snow quality excellent still. Singing Pass running well to boot.

    Whistler 22-23

Fun day with some surprise wind sift and good vis on Peak and Spankys. Nice just ripping around the resort on soft snow with zero lift lines, been a while since I’ve done that.

Very nice snow conditions. Had fun on-piste and off. Yesterday was great, too, albeit with sometimes challenging lighting/visibility.

How long is the hike to the Grey Zone? Every time I ride Crystal I think "I've got to ski that sometime" but somehow I've never gotten up there.

I'm not sure if last weekend was an anomaly or if maybe the worst crowds of the winter are over. I checked my stats after skiing on Sunday the 5th and I got in 30 runs. I used the singles line exclusively, but still.

great time for singles on Creekside and Red this year! so much improvement now that ski school kids don't snake all the single spots like they did on the quad.

The true test is this week - Ontario & BC winter break, I know a few people headed out there with families. Expect the worst, hope for the best!

Next Tues/Weds looking like I may be heading up, see how this storm shapes up. Agree with Todd about Creekside and Red chewing lines (and singles). Really just Peak that can be painful on Whistler. Harmony is easy to bang out laps on pow days, after it opens I find it’s your third run before the line starts to get long, really only on weekends too.

minimal lines Saturday aft, maybe 10+ min at Peak, almost no wait at creekside/red. I feel like while overall it's 'busy' the amount of time waiting in lift lines is much reduced as a whole, at least on Whistler. The 6 packs have made those old school 40 minute blown out corrals on harmony/green lines a thing of the past. While the lines are full, they generally move much quicker.

Both days were quiet this weekend but I think focus is already shifting for vancouverites and squamish people. Seems like its always insanely busy on forecasted pow days (possibly more than previous years) but today and yesterday were both amazing skiing but the "I only ski forecasted pow crews, then complain that its busy" didnt bother showing up...
