You are welcome to try my M out that is fitted for a smaller person 5"8. I seem to remember that you are like 1 inch shorter than me at most.

Just took single speed out & rode usual 1 hour loop….

Was 10 minutes faster to the parking lot & fit is way more dialed. Think I have my geometry for new rig.

I think that being on a SS is why you are faster. On any climb you can do in your choosen gear you will almost always climb faster, until you have to walk.

Also in rolling twisty terrain all mountain Single speed are straight up weapons.

All my PR’s except exclusively dh sections are on my SS. Any and all loops are faster on my SS.

Regardless of which bike is faster, if the geo fits, it fits.

That said, personally I don't want the exact same geo on my hardtail as on my full suspension bikes. The extra suspension and descending speed on a full sus mean I like the geo a little descending focused. Also, comparing geo on a hardtail to a full sus is tricky since everything changes on a hardtail when the fork sags.

no the geo is for sure better.

But Single Speeds are pure weapons, a SS that can descend even more so than an XC SS.

The GX spec for under 4k looks great if you're looking for a long travel, but not that slack, 27.5 bike.

I wish my wife was 5 levels better/more enthusiastic a rider so I could pick it up for her.

a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
